'Walking Man'
Walking Man, James Taylor's 5th album, came at a difficult juncture in his career. His previous album, One Man Dog, was generally successful and did have its critical supporters, with many still seeing "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" as an enduring success. Some of the short songs around it seemed somewhat unfinished, however, and while the album did reward repeated listening, many never got that far. Sales did not match the gigantic numbers reached by the previous two Taylor albums (Sweet Baby James and Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon) and some spoke as though Taylor's musical dominance was all in the past tense.
Sean CallaghanPublished 3 years ago in BeatPlayboi Carti’s “Whole Lotta Red” Album Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Whole Lotta Red marks a new era for Playboi Carti, and it seems to be a lot more than just an album. He’s become somewhat unrecognizable from the artist he was when he released his first, self-titled record, “Playboi Carti”, dawning a more punk look, which he’s said is inspired by the cult classic movie “The Lost Boys”. Him dawning this new look for Whole Lotta Red makes the album feel a lot more put together, like everything is deliberate. It even goes as far as the way he types out his tweets.

Three or four years ago, a significant relationship I was in came to an end. Creating a themed playlist on Spotify, titled with the broken heart and skull-and-crossbones emojis, was one of my ways of coping with the loss and aftermath.

This past year has been a roller coaster. With the many ups and downs while riding this roller coaster I would bury myself deep within my music. I find that music can be very therapeutic, helping enhance the many moods that might have been faced during this wild year.

On my sixteenth birthday, my two elder brothers exchanged sidelong glances as I opened a card from them. Inside I discovered a ticket to see Canadian supergroup, Rush, at the NEC, Birmingham. To say that I was excited is something of an understatement. When the day arrived, I could barely stop shaking with anticipation, much to the amusement of my brothers. Since the very first time I heard The Spirit of Radio, probably their biggest and most famous hit, I fell in love with Rush. Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart were (and remain) my heroes. My brothers and I bought every album, which I, somehow, inherited later. Instead of doing homework, I would listen to 2112, Moving Pictures, A Farewell To Kings, Hemispheres, and so on, at unhealthy volume through my headphones - a move which I now regret, due to the beginnings on tinnitus that are threatening to blight my hearing and sanity.

12 Houses
There's a corner in my home that has been a bedrock of my childhood but strangely has lived in many different houses. This “corner” has traveled with me over the years and transforms any new unfamiliar house into a home. My family and I moved around a lot when I was growing up, 12 times to be exact, but my thoughtful parents were always able to provide me with this cozy corner and avenue of creativity and escape.
