A Once More Playlist For A Muse

Ten Amazing Songs By Nine Wonderful Femal Artists

For A Muse

I did my first Playlist For A Muse and realised that all the artists were male, so this is something to redress the balance , I hope you enjoy both of these

My Muse often tells me my choice of music is weird, and she is not the only one. A lot of music, when I hear it , reminds me of her and brings me closer to her. Some of these songs make me think of her, and maybe she will listen and think my choice is not so weird after all.

If we all liked the same things life would be very boring and we would never learn anything from anyone. I learn so much from her and this is just a little story to connect us a little more.

Maybe you can do one for you and your Muse but you can share this too.

The YouTube playlist is here

Here we go

1:Carey by Joni Mitchell

From the album “Blue” but there is a lot of togetherness, love and joie-de-vivre in this song. I could listen to this with a smile and would love to listen and be with someone I cared for while this plays.

2: Today Was A Fairytale by Taylor Swift

A Canadian buyer asked for details about a CD I am selling, the soundtrack to “Valentine's Day”, and this is the opening song on it and I just fell in love with it. I maybe see myself as a secret romantic that I just don’t show in public and am not sure if that is good or bad but I do love love this.

3: Who Knows Where The Time Goes? By Sandy Denny

Another beautiful poignant song by the sadly missed Sandy Denny , something that affects us all and I never grow tired of this beauty.

4:You’re Still The One by Shania Twain

Probably a lot of people will be shocked by my song choices here, this being mainstream country pop, but if a song is good , it is good, and this is beautiful and says what I think of my wonderful Muse.

5: Never Together But Close Sometimes by Carlene Carter

Carlene Carter daughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter and ex wife of Nick Lowe and more decent country music appearing on this list. Think I was in my twenties when this came out and always loved this story of love at a distance.

6: I Love You You Always Forever by Donna Lewis

The message on this is very clear and it is another favourite and my Muse has said this to me and I to her.

7: Fidelity by Regina Spektor

Another more contemporary song that I love, and it does feel like a love song as you fall into it and just feel the beauty and love washing over you.

8: In France They Kiss On Main Street by Joni Mitchell

More joie-de-vivre from Joni from her album “The Hissing of Summer Lawns” this is just totally uplifting and joyful. I don’t know if they have a Main Street in France but you do get the message.

9: April Fool by Patti Smith

This doesn’t immediately sound like a love song but I think it is, I could sing this to someone I loved, and that is the sign of a truly great song. Patti Smith is a wonderful poet and singer.

“Come Be My April Fool, Come We’ll Break All The Rules”

10:Wasn’t Born To Follow by Carole King

I first heard this on the soundtrack of “Easy Rider” by The Byrds. I didn’t know it was a Carole King song, but there are so many Carole King songs that you don’t know are Carole King songs, “You Got A Friend” and “Natural Woman” to name but two.

Conclusion On My Once More Playlist For A Muse

Here are ten songs created by women and all are amazing, and I have hardly scratched the tip of the iceberg of female song and performing talent. I hope you enjoy.
