Don't Be Afraid
I think we live in a fearful world. A world that fears danger and flees from conflict as opposed to embracing challenges and deciding to overcome fear. It troubles me to know that somethings scare people, when they should really be using them as motivating factors or reassurances in their lives. Here are just a few fears I think you should reconsider... fearing.

Dr. Seuss' Eternal Messages
I just watched the latest Grinch adaptation, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Everything from the voice acting of Benedict Cumberbatch to the funny screaming goat was lovable. Honestly, I must say I enjoyed this one better than the others beforehand. The Grinch made me smile, giggle, and even (nearly) tear up. It reminded me of the importance of people like Seuss. Sixty-odd years after its original book release, it is still touching hearts, and hopefully, changing lives.

Staying Mindful Is Less Stressful
As people are constantly on the go, lots of things can be triggers for stress. The holidays are an excellent time to release some of it, but if you just take the time to constantly be remove stress-inducing problems daily, your life could be a lot better.

Say Thank You
A little while ago, I realized how much I appreciated a friend, and thought they could use a little affirmation of how great they are. So I sent them a text with two simple words: thank you. Of course, with it being out of the blue, the response was "for what?" I simply said it was for being them. As I hoped, they were very appreciative of my gesture.

It Takes Grit
The human mind is capable of a great deal of things. What's funny to me is how the mind loves to tell its user that it isn't able to do the things it can. Think about it. How many times have you given up on something or not even attempted it in the first place because you either thought it was too hard, too scary, or altogether impossible? And how many times have you done something remarkable and felt really accomplished afterward? I'll say the feeling after I've done something scary or difficult is a lot better than when I take the easy way out. Many times though, my mind has won the battle, and I've succumbed to its lies.

What Entrepreneurship Has Taught Me so Far
Entrepreneurs are problem solvers. They are people who seek to solve problems by creating innovative solutions, and crave that satisfaction found when a person knows they did something important. Entrepreneurs are really interesting people to be around because you’ll never know what to expect from them. I would also consider them as thrill seekers because generally they choose the unconventional path in life, and it can be scary, but also so thrilling. And a few months ago I would not have considered myself an entrepreneur in any way.

A Little Bit About Me
Hello there! My name is Zachary Boulanger. I'm 16 and halfway through my last year in high school. Recently, I've come to realize how much is trapped inside my head just begging to get out. Most of the time it's random thoughts like "what is Spongebob's middle name?" or something silly like that. But other times, I think about some pretty deep things, and think they might be able to help someone else. So I started writing a blog. As far as content goes, I mainly stick to lessons I've learned on my journey of bettering myself. I try to promote that there is no reward in staying comfortable, and that by opening your eyes to new things, and challenging yourself, that's where you'll become the best you there is. So here it goes. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether it's really meaningful or not. But to help you with that decision, here's a little bit about myself and how I got to be who I am today.

Slow Down, Look Up, and Feel the Beauty
I'm the type of guy who's always in a rush. I don't like to spend time waiting when I can be doing something or achieving my next goal. But I have recently come to realize my big mistake in rushing towards things: I go too fast and look down too much to find positivity when I could really use it.

On The Shortness of Life
Life is really short. Don't let anyone say otherwise because they are absolutely bonkers to think so. Just think of how much the world has to offer, and how little time humans are given to explore it all. I'm in grade 12, and right now I'm drowning in applications for schools and scholarships. Until now while trying to plan my next life steps all I've been told is "Oh don't worry about it now. You've got time." And that's been the biggest lie anyone's ever said to me. With so much to choose from there's never enough time. Especially when you're already bad at making decisions.

Not Everyone Is an A**hole
It's easy to judge someone based on one or two brief interactions. *Insert some quote about judging books by their covers here.* Just think of how often it happens. Picture where you work or go to school, and how many people are there. There are maybe ten people that could be considered more than acquaintances, a handful of close acquaintances, and all the rest. The latter category can be very diverse if one so chooses to care. There's probably a good portion that actually fall into the sub-category that is decent people. However, because no one really takes the time to care or take note, the vast majority of people in "the others" category are likely to be judged as lesser people. More commonly known as Assholes. But who really does care, and why should you?

A Reason to Live
Life is hard, and I'm sure everyone has asked themselves at some point something along the lines of: "Why am I doing this?" or: "Is my life really joyful and fulfilling?" There is no one answer to these types of questions, but I have a philosophy. My idea isn't an all-encompassing solution, and I don't pretend to live perfectly—no sir! However, this idea sure has opened my eyes to the value of the time that I am so lucky to have on this planet.

Life Lessons from a Traveling 16-Year-Old
Traveling may seem daunting to some. There are so many unknowns like: Will I get lost? Am I going to be able to communicate properly? Will I even like the experience? Questions like this can be paralyzing to people, and that's why they stay stuck inside their heads, never to go off and just live a better life by embracing what they don't know. To me, the unknown is a calling to adventure. It's a thrill to go experience amazing things, broaden my mind, and learn about myself and the world. Recently I took my longest trip ever to Japan. The lessons I learned were life-changing.
