So, you wrote a book, and you decided to use one of the few outlets that are out there that let you do all of the publishing on your own (which includes Lulu.com and Kindle Direct Publishing). Now you have this book that might be available on some online venues, but for the most part, you’re the one with copies. You don’t have a publisher promoting it or anyone else doing marketing for you. You’re on your own.
Stress is bad for you, but we all do it. We stress over work, home life, how our kids are doing, how we’re going to pay the bills and so much more. The things we have to stress about are never-ending, it seems. Each time the laundry or dishes are done, more things are dirty. Each time we pay the bills, more bills are due.
Everybody suffers from stress. No matter how old you are, what you do for a living, or what your personal life is - stress is a common factor between all people. What really matters is how you deal with stress.
I work from home, and I am one of those people that can’t stay focused on a project when there is clutter around. I also adhere to list-making, goal setting, and having an organized desk.
Road trips are one of my favorite things when it comes to long vacations and short ones. A road trip can take you anywhere—you can go across the state to a museum, across the country to see the ocean, or attend a huge festival. Picking where to go is part of the fun.
Who needs allies? The people who spend their lives getting shamed for being who they are. The people who don’t fit into the box that the world wants them to fit in. Those are the people that need you to stand by them.
