On Dog and Cat People
I currently have 2 cats in my house. But my family also has dogs. And at some point in life, we had 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a rat, all at the same time. I love all kinds of fluffy pets that are capable of engaging with me. So it never crossed my mind that I have to choose if I am a cat person or a dog person. Or maybe a rat person. But I see very often on the internet, that this topic is somehow a problem in people’s relationships. Some people, who identify as a cat person, would upright reject others, who identify as dog people. And won’t even give them a chance. Personally, the only type of person I would be apprehensive to date would be someone who wants to live with a snake or a huge spider. I would probably still want to go out with them, but it wouldn’t be a long-term commitment, because I absolutely can not live in the same space with creatures that look like they plot to murder me in my sleep. But aside from living together, I still wouldn’t mind getting to know a person who fancies cold, bald, slithering entities as pets. And it is considered to be quite normal to not like these kinds of animals, and nobody really gets upset that you are not a snake or spider person. But the debate between dog people and cat people seems to be really heated.
