May, you were a cruel month, With your heady scent of spring, Your skies of cloudless blue, And your breezes warm and sing.
Distrustful of men, she pushes them away Afraid of getting hurt, she keeps her heart at bay Drowning in fear, that history would repeat itself
Like a thousand needles in my being You tear me apart, piece by piece Leaving me with nothing but grief I thought we had something special, you see
And darling, I will never claim to understand the intimacy of your hurt. But believe me when I say your tears are like dewdrops on a lawn
I do not want to beg for manna anymore. I want to write, but being overwhelmed Kills any creativity in me. The pain of struggling,
Do not stay where you do not belong Find a path that resonates with your soul For life is short and time is long And your heart deserves to be whole
