Creative Harvest
With a dot of her pencil on the black notebook's page of golden lines, Alex added the final piece of punctuation for her last story. She had filled the luxury notebook with various stories over the years, and it would soon be time for her to face her fears of rejection and pursue her dream of publishing a book of short stories. But for now, as her room was being filled with feral young creatures with a desperate need for the instruction they so despised, she closed the notebook and placed its ribbon back its default place. Class was about to begin.

Sympathetic Resonance: A Resounding Cadence
Drowning in a sea of fear and uneasiness, a young musician stared across the dining room of the newly established private club. Patrons were pouring in on this fateful Saturday evening and the building would soon be filled to capacity. Tony finished his entree and quickly consumed the beer in his hand as the waitress handed him another. He was a well trained pianist, having studied with a great professor, but public performance had always proven to be his bane. Slipping out the back door Tony thought, just one more cigarette.

Breath of the Wild: Sequel of Sequels
It's been nearly four years since the gaming community was finally able to experience one of the most highly anticipated releases in game history. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild brought a breath of fresh air to the iconic franchise by giving players the freedom of open world exploration and abandoning the strictly linear experience that plagued the many entries that preceded it. It was a welcome change from the small contained world of Skyward Sword with an overworld profoundly larger than any other and the ability to go anywhere the player wished once the first area was completed.

A Tone of Regret
The roar of the waterfall crashing over the rocks was eerily soothing to the grieving tortured soul of a young man approaching the edge of the fullness of pain. Tony came here often at night to hear the water flow as the murky brown became pure white on its rocky descent to the bottom. He could even almost feel her presence embracing him with warmth as he would ponder the memories they shared and his epic failure to treasure those moments. He thought that they had an infinite amount of time, after all they were both in their twenties. It had been nearly a year since her passing, and yet the agony was still as raw as if it had just been yesterday.

How to Write a Song
So you're beginning to feel the creative itch that so many others before us all have felt over the last several millennia. I hear ya. I've been there and understand that all too well. I have had the desire to write songs since I was a young boy and more than once during my childhood I made my attempt and fell flat on my face. But when I revisited the concept during my junior year in high school, I finally started to gain some ground. I wrote countless songs over the next several years, composed a score for a local symphony, and my works have been performed from Washington State to Texas.

How To Write Song Lyrics
So I have to start by saying that there really is no right or wrong way to write song lyrics. I just simply thought I'd share a few ideas that have become "go-to's" so to speak. Just like any other writing endeavor, a set of song lyrics is only bound to the freedom of the creative process that implies that if something works, it works.

Final Fantasy X: A New Era
Warning: this article may contain spoilers I played my first final fantasy game way back in 1992, when I was just eleven. The concept of turn based combat with the entry of action commands was so revolutionary to me in contrast to the Mario and Legend of Zelda games I had played before. Having to learn to strategize by planning each action several moves in advance fulfilled my gamer cravings in ways I had never imagined, and the added depth of the characters and the dialogue didn't fail to delight even back when all the "speaking" was simply words on a screen. I played each game that was released in the U.S. right up to the return of the crystal in FFIX. And then came Final Fantasy X.

The Hometown That Reclaims Its Own
I thought that I had escaped the draw of B-town. After years of moving out and returning, it has now been nearly ten years since I last called it home. Then I found myself there last week to take pictures for this challenge. So regardless of the circumstances and the why behind them, B-town always finds a way to bring you back home.

Harmonic Dissonance
"I'm afraid that your heart is failing." These words echoed inside Noah's head as he sat on his couch, attempting to cope with the prognosis that ultimately meant that his life was nearly over. His gaze cut right through the television show that he wasn't even watching while he alternated between sipping the beer in his left hand and puffing the cigarette in his right. He always knew that this day would come, in fact he expected that it would have come sooner than it actually did. Noah had never been one to concern himself with his health. He had always lived in the moment, and the moments he lived in were intense.
