How to Buy a Brassier
I sat, back straight, eyes focused, legs crossed, tightly concealing my myself. The ad in front of me was chic, simple, almost elegant. A woman stared at me provocatively through heavy eyeliner and what could only be fake lashes, her lips were slightly pouted and her hair hung in exotic waves, dark against her bare skin. She was showing off the sheer-lace-satin-silk, beaded black undergarments that barely covered her at all. The panties were decorated with a tiny bow in the front and delicately finished with a white bead in the center of the bow, which I thought was cute, a perfectly wrapped present that one could buy for oneself, specifically to be enjoyed by someone else. I crossed my legs tighter. Someone had had the genius to add sheer portions just outside the carefully placed triangular silk-satin strip that even RuPaul, in all her gorgeous, glorious, clever ability, could not conceal herself.

Vivid Dreaming
I was in third grade, age 8, when I started having intense dreams. Dreams: I was standing on my dresser. I leapt off the dresser and the world moved in slow motion as I came crashing to the ground. Slowly, slowly, slowly, I saw the ground approach closer and closer to my face. The pit of my stomach moving from the excited and terrifying feeling of falling to the sheer horror of about to smash into the blue carpeted floor. Just before I pounded my face into the ground I was shocked as a strong, pulling, upward motion grabbed hold of my body from the belly and swept me towards the ceiling. In my relief the motion took over me and I began flying through the room. In circles and figure eights I went flying gleefully and happily with an incredible joyous feeling for this new talent I had found. For hours I swooped through the room, laughing to myself at the extraordinary experience. It was vivid and more real than anything I had experienced in life. Weeks later, I could not tell if I had dreamt it or truly experienced it.

The hat that I Wanted
I walked down the street to the consignment shop. I had been there so many times before. Trinkets and treasures could always be found. I was excited because today was thrifty Thursday and everything was 20% off. I stepped inside and went straight to the perfume bottles. I am a collector of bottles and I always like to find new items. I found a few that I liked and I greedily picked them up and put them on the cashiers counter for safekeeping. I wanted to take a wander around the store to see if there was anything else that I wanted.

Meditation
Meditation has been practiced since 5000 - 3500 BCE according to an article written by Elaine Mead. This early practice of meditation can be traced back to India and its' Hindu and Vedic practices (Mead, 2020). The practice of meditation is certainly not a new concept, but the research done on meditation has provided new insights on an old practice for those in Western cultures.

Crystal Healing
The crystal healing community has grown very popular in the past several years. Many people have subscribed to the healing properties of crystals, gemstones, and minerals. I have done some research and found that there is very little peer reviewed research on crystal healing (gemmotherapy). What little research that has been done attributes any healing qualities to the placebo effect. It is important to mention that this can be enhanced through priming. The general consensus is that crystal healing is a pseudoscience.
