She is: Love
When you dream of having this wonderful love story while we're children, it's nothing like we think it would have been. She looks nothing like my dreams. She is so much more mesmerizing and beautiful than I could have ever imagined. How could something so pure that I never knew existed be something I am now so scared to lose? She is the abrupt stop in your footsteps when you're walking through the cold night to gaze up at the stars. She is the stillness in the air when you're drifting to sleep. She is the sweet scent of dew upon the grass blades during spring. She is the breath of cold air that burns your lungs during a blizzard. She is the rush of shock and adrenaline when jumping into a cold lake. She is the serenity that bestows upon you when running through a field at dusk. She is the tears that fall on your pillowcase at 3 am with a sigh of relief when your mind is racing. She is the warmth when you're brought into the arms of embrace. She is the light that reflects against your eyes in a city at midnight. She is the agonizing burn that sits in your throat when you're screaming out to songs that tug at your heartstrings. She is nurture. She is grace. She is compassion. She is transcendent. She is beauty and hellfire all in one.

The Love I Lost
The moon illuminates the glass beside me , as we're driving down an empty highway. Everything seems still for a moment . Just a moment.. a breathe is heard in the silence. 80 miles doesn't seem too fast when you're sitting passenger side. I lost you there at that moment. A crow flew in front of the headlights as the overpass came too quickly. That peaceful, blissful moment was gone just as quickly as it came.

Vegan New York Cheesecake with a Blueberry & Peach compote
Ya know, growing up I had always associated being vegan (or vegetarian, eating keto, paleo, etc) as being very restrictive when it came to what things you could eat. I thought that it was just surviving off of fruits, vegetables, grains, etc, in a very plain-jane way. I am personally not a full-time vegan myself, but I do love challenging myself to make "unhealthy" - the greasy, cheesy, yummy - recipes that I love, just a tad bit healthier and animal-friendly. I have experienced trying new ways of eating, whether it be a keto recipe, vegan recipe, you name it, since 2017. I have found a new love and passion for cooking and baking ever since.
