She Has a Heartbeat Too
The majority of the world have been in shock since a law banning abortion from as early as six weeks into pregnancy has come into effect in the US state of Texas. It bans abortions after the detection of a foetal heartbeat, something medical authorities say is misleading. The Heartbeat Act was signed into law by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in May 2021. The law has been heavily criticised by doctor’s and women’s rights groups around the globe, such as Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), who requested that the Supreme Court block the legislation.

I Do DOES NOT mean I Consent
In India, a society deeply rooted in patriarchy, it is not a crime for a man to rape his wife! While campaigners argue time and time against an archaic law that has no place in a modern society, the government has consistently maintained that criminalising marital law could "destabilise" the institution of marriage and that it could be used by women to harass men (Pandey, 2021). Marital rape occurs when the husband believes that he owns his wife's body. Such notion has no place in modern social jurisprudence, yet they still form a fundamental part of it in India.

The Modern Slave
We believe everyone, everywhere has the right to a life free from slavery, and we are legally entitled to this freedom because Article 4 of the Human Rights Act protects us from being held in slavery or servitude. However, right now, millions of children and adults are trapped in slavery, exploited for personal and/or commercial gain, in every single country around the world. Including yours.

Till Death Do Us Part
LIBERTY International - Issue No. 1 “After my husband once more tried to kill me with his bare hands, I wrestled myself free and ran . . . but was soon fetched by a contingent from my husband’s house and locked up. They had distinct plans to burn me to death . . . The old aunt had fetched the kerosene tin from the kitchen and ordered the servant to pour it [on me] and throw a lighted match in.”

“Khuzestan is thirsty for freedom”
LIBERTY International - Issue No. 2 The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) 1948 is a milestone document proclaimed by the United Nations as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally applied. Among these rights, contained within Article 19, is the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers; and a right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association under Article 20. (Universal Declaration of Human Rights | United Nations, 2021).

Holborn 4
It was another drab and gloomy day, as was expected for Britain. The detectives trampled in for their morning briefing, cold coffee in hand, a hangover cure in the other. Not that different from the good old days glorified in the twentieth century cop movies.

A Parotta and Beef Love Story
I have always enjoyed reading a good love story just as much as I enjoy a hearty meal and travelling. The classics are undeniably the embodiment of the romantic souls of the world-renowned and evergreen authors. Modern day romances tend to lack that old-school flavour that spiced up the classics. Perhaps all these millennial romanticists should try Kerala's go-to food for any occasion; it may spice up their writing a little. I extend my sincerest apologies to vegetarians, who will forever live their life having missed out on something spectacular.
