7 Things You Find in Vocal That You Won't Find Anywhere Else
I'm a newbie writer. Sure, in the past I've written some short stories and kept them to myself. Initially, it changed from personal files on my hard disk to Blogger.com, where I kept my writings in private mode since I'm not the kind of person who shares my thoughts in public. Last year, I joined Medium during the lockdown, but my writing there was short-lived because it was not clear to me, the list of features that Medium supports, especially as an Indian writer (Medium Partner Program made too many changes for writers from India, Brazil, etc.). So, I was mostly writing on Medium to keep up with my passion for writing and not for audience or rewards.
Where Did Everyone Go? - A Short Story
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I live near the ocean. I’m half-brown and half-black in color. Both my ears are black; my tail is all brown. We are a group of four who own this area. We don’t allow other dogs to enter our territory. We usually get scraps of meat from the nearby butcher shop. We have to fight with the rowdy cats who roam around in the same area for a meager piece of meat. There’s also a food cart nearby; we lick the leftover food from the discarded plates. Also, there’s an overflowing dustbin near the statue where the cows usually go. We get plenty there. So overall, life was good.
Books That Made An Impact In My Life
Below are a few of the books I have enjoyed reading, which impacted my life and helped me reconsider perspectives. These books are in no particular order. I have tried to give one book per author to not play favoritism.
My Preparation for Software Developer Interview for a Technology Switch (Level - SDE 2)
I did my undergraduate course in Computer Science, so I have previous knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, Databases, and Operating Systems. After finishing my undergraduate, I joined a good company. My team was using Pega for development. My team members were all starters in Pega but had previous industry experience with other technologies. On the contrary, I didn't have any industry experience and started with the skills I learned in college and competitive programming. I was newly introduced to Pega.
What Did Old Cartoons Teach Us?
Cartoon Network telecast a lot of great cartoons back when I was young, in the late 90s and early 2000s. I used to eat breakfast watching these cartoons before school and later once the school bell rang, would rush home in the evening. Each show had a different emotion and a different set of values to teach. Now that I'm a grown-up, I enjoy the music too and appreciate the amount of effort put into the background themes of these children's shows.
Oh Butterfly - A Short Story
If not for friends and playing games, I don't know the point of going to school. As I was saying, I came home and tossed my shoes in a corner and my school bag in another corner. Owing to my patti's insistence, I developed the habit of going straight to the backyard to place the lunch bag in the common area for our servant maid Akka to wash them for the next day.
Contrast - Short Story #1
The sun was scorching, people were honking in traffic mindlessly somehow believing that that will help in clearing the traffic and roadside vendors were occupying half the street with a constant lookout for police. This was the normal city life and this happened on almost all of the major roads. One such is Grand Southern Trunk road. Popularly known as GST road or NH-45. Even though it connects Chennai, Trichy, Dindigul, and other areas, we are going to look only at Chennai and more specifically the route from Tambaram to Guindy.
