Vrain looked over his shoulder as the sound of clicking caught his attention. Meeting Damion's gaze, he gave Vrain a forced smile as he made his way into the room. "I had an incident at work yesterday, and now I'm out for the next six to eight weeks." Vrain looked at Damion's casted leg. Mouth working, Vrain couldn't get his voice to work.
Glancing up from his endless paperwork, Vrain swore when he saw the clock. Shane’s stress test had started ten minutes ago. There was no time for Vrain to get to the room and participate. Clenching his fist, Vrain sighed when he saw the monitor with three separate EKGs running across it.
Vrain leaped to his feet as the impatient knocking started up again. Getting to the door in record time, Vrain paused when he saw who was on the other side. “Darren. What has you encroaching on my office today?”
Running his fingers over the spine of three different charts, Vrain was still the most impressed with Shane's records. The other was a female named Aria, an armature runner with a need for pushing her body beyond its limits. Damion was the next one, a relatively fit male who got his workouts at work. Lastly, there was the equally good looking Drake. Vrain wondered which of the three males would be able to take the most.
Welcome to Balewood Hospital, a world-renowned facility at the top of its class. Behind its wheels is the brilliant Dr. Vrain. A young prodigy who quickly reached the top. Dr. Vrain stopped once he became the head of the Cardiac Research department. Ever since then, his ultimate research goal began. It had been a long and groveling process. Things were finally underway.
Skimming over all of the different medical applications, Vrain sighed. His subordinates had already gone through all of the disqualified pile with a fine-toothed comb, making sure everyone really wasn’t suited for this research project. Vrain glanced up as one of his colleagues walked up to him. “You’re going to wanna see this one.”
