Film Review: 'Set It Up'
Being an office assistant can be a hectic job, and this can definitely be said for the protagonists of this recent addition to Netflix's recent string of romance-centric original films. Aspiring writer Harper (Zoey Deutch) works as an assistant to revered sports journalist Kirsten Stevens (Lucy Liu), while Charlie (Glen Powell a.k.a one of the best parts of Scream Queens) works for notoriously short-tempered and domineering financial manager Rick Otis (Taye Diggs). Both overworked by the strain of satisfying their respective boss's demands, Harper and Charlie are desperate for an escape.

Lifetime Review: 'Stalked by My Doctor: The Return'
Lifetime must've seen the large buzz generated by Stalked by My Doctor and realized that what they had was, unlike most of their movies-of-the-week, could be something they could make into a movie series. For a year after its' release, Stalked by My Doctor received a sequel that had Eric Roberts returning to his role as deranged hebephiliac Dr. Albert Beck.

Lifetime Review: 'Stalked by My Doctor'
With over 500 credits under his name, Eric Roberts has proven himself to be a versatile and well-versed actor. Eric has, in recent years, begun lending his talents to the Lifetime world, and thus led to the Stalked by My Doctor saga, which started in 2015 with this dramatic tale of obsession.

Film Review: '#RealityHigh'
Social media has changed a lot in the world—in both good and bad ways. The bad, for example, can be viewed through a childhood incident revolving around Dani Barnes (Nesta Cooper), whose friendship with Alexa Medina (played by Alicia Sanz in the present events) ends when she subjects Dani to a cruel prank that is spread online, upsetting Dani to the point of temporarily suspending her account.

Movie Review: 'Alex Strangelove'
When it comes to teenagers, it can be hard for them to navigate the bizarre train that is their ever-changing bodies and emotions. Initially, though, you might think differently regarding Alex Truelove (Daniel Doheny), a likable and funny high school senior who seems to have his life all together. Doting parents, good friends, and a loving girlfriend in his friend Claire (Madeline Weinstein) who plans to go with him to the same college they've applied to, Alex seems to have everything together.

Movie Review: 'Killer Island'
An island vacation is supposed to be a relaxing day of sunshine and ocean views. That's certainly what married couple Ashley and Mike Porter (played by Barbie Castro and Brian Gross, who previously played a couple in 2017's Girlfriend Killer) were hoping for. With Ashley struggling to come to terms with the drowning death of her sister at the island, in addition to Mike's recent infidelity, the Porters are hoping their island getaway will help smooth out the rough patches in their marriage.

Movie Review: 'Heartthrob'
While MarVista Entertainment is most known for providing made-for-TV films for channels such as Lifetime and Hallmark (among others), it appears they've branched out into making their own original films. One such film is 2017's Heartthrob, which ironically follows a plot that Lifetime fans will no doubt recognize: a teenage boy becoming obsessed with the most popular girl in school.

Movie Review: 'The Kissing Booth'
When it comes to Netflix's originally released movies, high school teen flicks seem to be a popular sub-genre recently. One of their latest offerings, The Kissing Booth, however, has more pedigree in the teenage market than the other films Netflix is pushing towards an adolescent demographic. The Kissing Booth began life as a 15-year-old's Wattpad story, but ended up becoming a published book that was apparently popular enough to warrant a movie adaptation.

Lifetime Review: 'Girlfriend Killer'
You are never entitled to someone's love. That cryptic opening is essentially the lesson of Lifetime's 2017 offering Girlfriend Killer. It's a lesson that Emerson Banes (Jason Cook) clearly hasn't learned. The movie starts off with him planning to propose to his girlfriend Marissa Stefans (Elisabetta Fantone), hiring the services of Carmen Ruiz (Barbie Castro) to do so. For, as you see, Carmen runs a popular proposal arrangement business, which is displayed in adorable fashion in the film's opening. But in Emerson's case, his proposal ends not with a yes, but with Marissa revealing that she was in love with a man she had been seeing behind his back before tearfully walking away.

Lifetime Review: 'Boyfriend Killer'
Something I've noticed during my years as a Lifetime fanatic is that the channels seems to be the go-to place for soap opera stars wanting a new place to spread their acting wings. One such case of this would be Kate Mansi, who Days of our Lives fans might recognize as Abigail Deveraux (Mansi's only other acting role before Days was a one episode appearance on How I Met Your Mother). Kate Mansi has recently begun starring in a handful of Lifetime films, among them being 2017 MarVista feature Boyfriend Killer.

Lifetime Review: 'The Midwife's Deception'
Pregnancy is hairy in real life as well as the Lifetimeverse. Though after watching as many movies as I have, I can say Lifetimeverse ladies have it worse. They don't just have to deal with morning sickness, weight gain, and endless doctor appointments; they also have to contend with a multitude of psychotic women just waiting for the opportunity to claim another woman's baby as her own.
