Short Film Reviews: Black Lives Matter
As you've all likely heard by this point, a grand jury has decided against bringing charges against the officers responsible for the shooting death of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor. Of the officers involved (Brett Hankison, Jonathan Mattingly, and Myles Cosgrove), only Hankison will be facing charges--and those charges are limited to first-degree wanton endangerment for the bullets that went into the neighboring apartment. In other words, none of the officers involved in Taylor's death will be facing homicide charges. With this tragedy being only one of a number of police-related homicides against Black individuals (other victims include George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery), this unbelievably lenient decision has sparked plenty of outrage.

Short Film Reviews: Tristan McIntosh
Those who remember my short film review set of the Workobey catalogue or my review of the company's first feature-length piece We Are The Missing might recognize the subject of this post. That subject: Tristan McIntosh, who had a bit part in We Are The Missing and a main role in The Becky Carmichael Fan Club (not to be confused with the female singer/former American Idol contestant of the same name). After learning that he's also been directing and producing films of his own, I decided to give his collection of films a look. So let's dive right in and see if McIntosh is as good behind the camera as he has been in front of it!

Desperate for a way out of her rut, Olivia turns to social media for new employment. It's then that a very lucrative opportunity presents itself: the chance to act as a surrogate for high-profile celebrity Ava Von Richter (Brianne Davis). Charmed by Ava and her fabulous house, Olivia quickly agrees to be her surrogate and is initially welcomed warmly by Olivia and her husband Hayden (Carl Beukes).

But with Greg's past affair still lingering on her mind, Angela can't stop herself from being paranoid--especially after meeting her husband's new assistant Lisa (Caroline Cole).
