Too Far Down
Leaves blow past me as I watch my boyfriend of eight months walk away. He just broke up with me for being in love with someone else, my friend Park in particular. I tried to talk him out of it, to convince him that he's just being paranoid, but he saw right through me. I feel a twinge of sadness while the outline of his body fades further away. I breathe in deeply and turn. I start walking along the path again and pull my phone out of my pocket. I dial Park's number.

As The World Fades to Black
The pools of purple and blue make the canvas of my face look like some sort of crime as I examine myself in the mirror. I'm going out to dinner with my fiancee and our parents tonight. I can't show up at the restaurant with bruises on my face. I look down at the bathroom sink and the collection of makeup scattered on it. Foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, sunscreen lotion, everything from inside my makeup container is out. It looks as though a shop has puked in here. I chuckle to myself at the thought, then stare at the stuff for five more minutes before I finally decide what products and colours would go best with what.

Her
I open my bedroom window to be greeted by the cold night air. I breath it in for a moment, then grab a sheet of paper off my table. I roll it into a tight ball, then throw it across the alley. It hits the window across from mine lightly, making a soft tapping sound. It's not loud enough to bother anyone but the person inside. I wait silently for a few moments before I toss a second ball. I wait a little longer, then throw a third. When nothing happens again, I sigh and close the window. Agitated, I lay down on my bed.

Eating Disorders: Are They Real?
Eating disorders are a particular type of mental illness that affect the mind, the body, and a person's eating habits. As with most mental disorders, there is controversy over their existence and whether or not they are 'real' illnesses. While not everyone doubts the effect these conditions can have on a person, there are enough people who do that it's become a notable debate. Today, we'll be looking at the evidence proving how real eating disorders are and the opinions supporting why they aren't something to worry about.

At What Cost?
It was just another day. The sun was out and shining. People were spending time outside. Friends and family were connecting. Life was good. My friend and I were driving around that day. Neither of us had to work, so we decided to get in her car and drove off together. We went to a few different cities and towns within our state to look at the popular sights. We even did some modeling for each other. The shots turned out great even though we aren't photographers or anything like that. On the way back to my house, the sun was setting. It was beautiful. The sky was a melting blend of blues, pinks, and gold colours with fluffy clouds floating in it. We had the windows down so that we could feel the warm air as we drove along the highway. It was the most blissful moment of my life.

Avery Barrow
Avery Barrow was born on April twenty-ninth, back in 1980. Growing up in Finside Park, she was a pretty good kid. She was like a lot of girls her age. She played with Barbies, had frequent sleepover parties, loved dress up, and liked to run around outside. She listened to her parents, stayed out of trouble, and spoke her mind. Her grades were good, but she certainly wasn't a genius. She liked playing with makeup, but she certainly wasn't the best at it. She was average. She blended into the background well, but she knew how to take the stage.
