Top Stories From VSS Members October 2021
Top stories are quite a milestone. The spots are rare, the chances slim and the moment of glory a defining moment in every creators' journey. Haven't got one yet? Don't stress! Until you do, you can always submit your work for peer-review to the Vocal Social Society for the chance at earning a nod from your fellow creators with a Fab 5 award.

Books From Creators You Know & Love Issue 1
Hello everyone, Les here. When it comes to writing, many of us pursue more than one avenue, but a book is the stuff dreams are made of. Whether it's via a traditional publisher or through self-publishing avenues, these creators are getting their words in print and up for sale! Here's a short list from those VSS members you know and love.

A Community For All—'Hiraeth'
Hello everyone, Les here. A lot has been said lately about what it would mean to have a Men's Community on Vocal. Most notably, one of the Vocal Social Society's admins, Rachel Jordan (Rachel MJ), took on the concept with an academic stance. When she isn't writing award winning poetry for Vocal, working diligently to uplift her fellow creators in VSS or contributing as a regular columnist on the Vocal Creators Chronicle, Rachel is a post-graduate psychology student. She has a masters in Forensic Mental Health and was truly the best person to put together the case for a 'safe space for men'. She wrote eloquently about the topic and expertly sourced her rationale. As you can see below, she doesn't shy away from the tougher points involved in discussing such an idea, either. For example,

Halloween with The VCC
Hello everyone, Les here. I don't know about you, but fall flew by faster than bad cake gets devoured at office parties for me. Leaves have departed, snow is falling for some of us northerners and thoughts of...gasp...the red and green holiday season and all it's chaos are on the horizon. But before the next issue, which will fall in November, I wanted to give a proper send off to my favourite holiday. It's just me this time around, though Caroline and James extend warm wishes to everyone as always. Included below are some lists, some fiction, and some fun.

Special Edition: Tom Bradbury
Hello all, in light of recent events, The Chronicle thought that it was fitting this week's issue be a special tribute edition for our recently departed friend, fellow writer, mentor, leader and shoulder to lean on, Tom Bradbury. This version will be somewhat of a different format than what you are used to, but made with every bit as much care and consideration as always. -The VCC Team

Vocal Creators ChronicleTop Story - September 2021
Hello all, and welcome to Volume 2 of The Vocal Creators Chronicle. Caroline, Les & James wanted to open up this issue with a big thank you! The praise we received from our inaugural edition of The Vocal Creators Chronicle had us over the moon; truly, we treasured your kind words. Whatever role you play, whether it be by contributing work, sharing other's stories, participating in the weekly Fab 5s on VSS, cheering us on, chatting with us at Vocal Social Society and, of course, by reading our words (and then sharing, hearting and liking them....) however you interact, know that your support is noticed and valued.

The Vocal Creators Society Pages
Let's take a look at the "social" part of the Vocal Social Society. When it comes to chatting and engaging with each other on social media, we do a lot of it. My Vocal family has been there to support me through some pretty bleak points in my life. I'm sure the connections you've made through Vocal have made a difference to you, too, kind readers. We've had some big moments recently, including a multitude of top story placements and challenge winners. What better way to celebrate together than with a new column on The Chronicle. And just FYI, if you're reading this and you're not mentioned here but should be, write Les through The Chronicle's Facebook page! Because that's what quick-edit is for. ;)

Vocal Creators ChronicleTop Story - September 2021
Hello all, and welcome to the inaugural edition of The Vocal Creators Chronicle. About the Founders Your editors, Les, James & Caroline, are firm believers in the idea that if you only look at your own work, you are missing the forest for the sake of the trees. Thousands of stories get published on Vocal each day by incredibly talented writers spanning a kaleidoscope of topics and genres. The heads of The Chronicle were inspired to create a free, online magazine out of our desire to open the eyes, minds, and hearts of the world to the brilliant creations we read daily on Vocal—whether it be through browsing or subscribing. We recognized the value good-quality reading material brings into our lives, and we value the creativity of what you, our fellow creators, have written.
