Move Nancy, Get Out the Way!
They are corrupt. We know that. They are sycophantic. We know that. What we don’t know is what will be done about it. Here’s what won’t do a damn thing—hurling tweeted insults at it. We’ve had it up to here with you Nancy. How long should we wait?

Nationalism Is Not Patriotism
On Veterans Day this year, we celebrate 100 years since the Armistice that ended World War I. America's European allies gathered in Paris this past weekend to honor and thank our fallen soldiers, those who lie forever on European soil after defeating Germany in 1918. It was the war that was supposed to end all world wars, but only two decades later America would once again send thousands of soldiers to fight, and to die, to rescue Europe from the Nazi menace.

Rep. Pelosi, the House Is on Fire and You're Talking About Dinner?
Sorry Rep. Pelosi, but you did not win the House. The DCCC didn’t win the House. The Resistance won the House. The Resistance made up of rational Republicans, Independents, Progressives, Liberals, and Democrats. This is not your win. Your run-of-the-mill, kumbaya, work across the aisle blather is exactly why, we, the resistance is telling you to step aside and let our new representatives run this thing.

Don't Buy These Ads in Ohio
When it comes to this year’s midterms, it seems that the strategy on the right is simply to lie and cheat their way into office. There were so many ads this weekend here in Columbus, Ohio (the Heart of it All) that flat out attempt to distort reality. They’re as blatant as they are inane. Black America: Why I Vote
Emancipation came down to two votes—two. Two votes that no black person in this country could cast. We had to depend on the goodwill and determination of a group of men to vote for what is right and not what was politically expedient or in their own self-interest. And let’s face it, for white men, white privilege in 1863 was a big deal. It was the only way that they could rise to whatever heights economically, politically, and socially without any competition from any woman or men of color.

Nazis, Rebs, and Reds—Oh My!
More than two-thirds of the Republican Party is made up of confederates and confederate sympathizers. People in the Republican Party now openly walk around saying that they would rather be Russian than Democrats. And the Nazi descendent Koch brothers are now trying to buy the Supreme Court…in 2018. When Americans have access to all of this information, how is it that we have not connected the dots—and still aren’t?

The Word Is Trust
Trust: A firm belief in the character, ability, strength or truth of something or someone. It is a confident hope. We see trust every day among a great and diverse group of people in this country. There’s the trust that a child has in their parents to catch them before they fall; both literally and figuratively. There is the trust that Christians place in God or another of “a higher power.” There is trust amongst friends, significant others, family members, trust an employer places in their employee and vice versa and the trust a patient has in their doctor.

Why I Voted for "Her"
I originally wrote this piece in September 2016 in response to a liberal friend of mine who was urging Democrats to basically fall in line and vote for Hillary Clinton. I agreed wholeheartedly but she went a step further and tried to whitewash her record, which I could not abide.
