Being injured for the last few days forced her to lay low, far away from the grazing fields just to avoid any potential predators. Normally, Red's been able to outrun the majority of them. In rare instances there'd be a few faster than her, but they'd always chase after slower prey. Like all predators, expending the least amount of energy possible to eat a meal without risk of injury has always been the directive since the dawn of phagocytosis.
