The Cost of Freedom
The fire burned brightly, colliding with the cold air as the flames danced and ate away at the wood. Only the circle of the dirt and the rocks surrounding it kept it from reaching what was beyond. Serving its purpose to keep those close to it warm and to ward off the hunters that lurked in the forest.

Parabellum
Sweat soaked the woman's clothes as she struggled to hang onto the two young girls beside her. The heat of the forest filled her lungs as if she was set ablaze within. The thought of stopping to rest barely registered, knowing the consequences if they did.

Requiem
The sun sat dangerously close onto the horizon, turning from a bright yellow to a bright orange. The sky itself was a mix of blue and red, creating a bittersweet view for all to see. The Last Confrontation
The sound of ice cracking in the distance echoed across the snowy forest, a sign of spring not far behind but still under the reign of winter as cold winds brushed against the trees and clouds covered the sky, preventing the sun from touching the surface of the sun and ice.

My Motivation
When I was a boy, I wasn't a big fan of reading or writing. To my very naïve and simple-minded personality of my childhood, I saw writing and reading as very boring and too much of a hassle, largely due to school at the time. So, as you can see, where I am now was not at all how I started way back when.
