A Journal entry from 10/5/2011
Today is October 5, 2011, and we have just finished our schoolwork today. The children are sitting around finishing up their schoolwork while she is; trying to figure out why blog.com is not working for her today. In a little while, she will have to go to work and worry about it later. She is; hoping that it will be a little busy today at work. Up and down we go it, is how it is every day. Life is going well right now, and she is still writing in her journal every day.

Today is October 9, 2021
You never know what you're going to see as your sitting outside no, matter what you are doing. There's always something to see doesn't matter if it's the people that walk by or drive by. People are mysterious in so many ways it's hard to understand what people are thinking throughout the day. It's not that you would want to know what everyone is thinking about because you might not like what you hear. Sometimes she sits around and thinks about my mom. But then I know she's in a better place because she's not hurting. Dealing; with cancer is a hard thing to do; when you have to leave all your family behind. This year it's going to be horrible. These people want $15 an hour to flip burgers at McDonald's or Burger King.

Trade-offs you Face
Some of the tradeoffs that she faces in her life deal with the things that take up time. Homeschooling, college, work, and family. Sometimes it is hard to make enough time in the day for these things that she holds dear to her heart. Sometimes there is not enough time, and you have to ensure that you have the time to get the required things done with the allocated time you have during a day. You have to spend your time wisely. To manage to get the items done in the time; you have set out for those items.

Writing about the Day
Today started pretty well woke up and spent some time just talking about different things. When you finally realize there are some needs to make some changes in life and what she wants to do for the rest of her life and working in the restaurant field is something that she does not want to do anymore. Well, things are quiet around here, and everyone is doing things they want to do she, assumes because; no one is here with her in the living room. She watched a video of her grandson starting to try and learn how to crawl. It is nice to watch them grow and see how they shape up in the world. When you become a grandparent, it is something quite; different than anything else. Our job as parents is to make sure that we raise our children and teach them how to defend themselves. You will always come across people and find out they are staying at the house living with their parents for the rest of their life. We are not teaching them anything but how to get away with living in their parent's house and not making a life for themselves. It is time to push them out of the house for their good and learn how the world works. Well, anyway, things are looking pretty around the house, and flowers are blooming all around. Our garden did not do that well this year because, as usual, we did not get started in time enough, and then it gets; too hot for the plants.

Random Thoughts Today
Throughout the day, we spend our time meeting lots of people in the foodservice business. We have some rude customers as well. Maybe it is time for people to start voicing their opinions about what is going on in the world today. There is so much hate in the world that people don't know how to be kind anymore. It is sometimes nice to see how many good people there are in the world. However, people that are always angry probably didn't have a good life. It is crazy to spend your whole day grumpy and act like a fool in public. Being in the food business means you have to kill them with kindness; and not let your emotions show. Sometimes people have a hard time dealing with the world because no one has taught them to deal with it because they do not know how to stand up for themselves.

Finding A Passion
As she sits here writing about various things on her blog; starting to write more in her journal with several different posts and various; topics. There is so much to write about, and she doesn't know where to start so many things on her mind, and she cannot possibly keep track of them. You have to want something for it to happen, and you have to put in the work for it to exist. Well, for now, she continues with what she is doing. When you start thinking about the life you want, then; you should seize the day and make it happen.

Living A Life
You know it is amazing how people in this world act. Things that people do and the work ethic in this world today are nothing to brag about by no means. People that work for any company should adhere to the rules of the business. They don't want to be on time for work, they call in at the last minute, and you hear all kinds of excuses on why they cannot be a responsible adult. As she sits there thinking about how the day went. Although we were busy, we did not have the time to get things done in time enough for the next shift. There are businesses around our store that do not have their dining room open. So that means more people are coming to our store because they can come in and sit down.

Happy Thoughts Around
She has learned many things in the last week about her blog, and she figured out how to do some things that she did not know before. Like adding posts to categories, they have their page and not in the blog roll on the front page. When she started this blog, she did not understand the ins and outs of blogging. She decided to start it because of the discussion questions in college. Why not put them on a blog and see if people will respond.

Today is September 4, 2021,
Today is September 4, 2021, She wakes up and starts her day. She gets ready for work and drinks some coffee to wake herself up. Every day is stressful days with; COVID19, unemployment, and politically there is no guarantee of what the future holds for anyone in the world today. As she leaves the house to head to work, she spends her drive listening to the jazz channel and makes her way down the highway to her store. When she finally arrives at her job; she looks around in the parking lot to make sure all the lights are working outside, then she makes sure that the parking lot needs sweeping and there is no visible trash, checks the weeds next to the sidewalk, and then it is time to head in and see how the shift went. Most managers call this a walk walk-thru. The morning shift is just arriving. She gets the drawer ready for the upcoming shift-which allows the previous crew to go home. Now, she has to wait for everyone to arrive. It went rather well today. However, the day could have gone a little better because when you have new people. It doesn't seem like everyone is working, and it makes you feel like you are doing all the work. We did $2447 today in sales for the shift man customers were coming in as fast as they were going out it, seemed that way. We had a decent crew today, and everything got done before the next shift arrived. She finally gets all the work done that she needed to get done before heading out for the day. She realized today that some of her regular customers did not come to eat with us today. Some girls who work for her were telling her what happened the day she was not there. She needed to know why the customers were not coming in anymore was because of what happened the other day. Of course, it was her day off, and she was unaware of the events they were talking about on that day. The girls said that their food was wrong when they came in that day and were not happy. It is so hard to keep your customer's coming back when they get terrible food while away from your store. You have to take care of the customers you have come into your establishment because they are the ones we are here to serve, cook for, and make sure they are welcome anytime. You also have some of your customer's that you spoil you, exactly know how they like their food. When you mess up on their food a few times, you will see that they are not likely coming back; and spend their money in your establishment. We are in the people business so, taking care of your customers is the key to repeat business and will bring new business from word of mouth. She has had her issues when it comes to dining out in this day and time. We love eating at the Shrimp Basket; however, the last time we went was on Father's Day the-lady who was the hostess; told us to pick where we wanted to sit so, we picked; one of the tables. It was her and her husband eating because the boys were working so, they could not join us tonight, and it is a good thing. The service was horrible, and we never got waited on for like 15 minutes, and then the hostess saw us looking around and wondering who our server was. Well, the hostess got our drink order and proceeded to find the salesperson for that section. Another couple walks in and sits behind us at the next; table, and the hostess went to get the salesperson and told her that we were ready to order. Well, as we watched the hostess who was trying to find the salesperson for the section. The salesperson made her way to the table behind us who; just sat down at their table. Frustrated by what we had been through, we got up and left because that was not even right to pass us up for the table that just came inside and sat down.
