This past week I have been reconnecting with a lot of my fellow Canadians back home. With the distance, texts and messenger help to close the gap and time in between. With the time change as I wake, they are preparing to call it a day and visa versa. It just comes with the territory of wandering the globe.
When looking around the world the media portrays conflict as this heart wrenching, diabolical Goliath that only seeks to twist and bend life into submission. Conflict is brutality and the worst of human beings. It is the loss and destruction of pieces of humanity that we hold sacred. Innocence, pleasure, happiness and comfort are lost within conflict with nothing to gain except...experience?
One Punch Man is an anime show based upon Saitama and the issues that he faces as one of the most powerful superheroes in the universe. Compared to other characters that we normally see and that are depicted in movies and cartoons, Saitama is not exceptional in many ways. He's bald, wears a yellow and red suite with a white cape and looks very, well, underwhelming. What he does possess is super strength and the ability to finish any conflict with a single punch, usually with minimal effort.
Through my travels I haven't always been in a relationship, in fact it's been very rare. When you are always on the go it can be very difficult for people to want to stick it out or to keep it healthy. What's the next best thing? Well, Tinder. Yup the beloved app for finding your next match, date or hookup. To say it is a serious place to look for love is a little diluted, but, it is not impossible to really strike a connection with someone face to face.
Relationships are a funny thing, there are only two options for all of them. You stay together forever or you break up. Sure, maybe you can be comfortable being friends down the road but that won't be the person you go home to at night.
