My Skincare Regimen
Ah, in my young adult years from 1992 to 1998, my skin was a major source of pride that remained constant. In spite of forgetting to wash my face before bed or being too tired to do so, my skin was virtually flawless. I hardly ever broke out. I only needed a dab of foundation here and there on my face. Too bad I didn’t have the confidence to appreciate it more at the time.

AFI Silver Theatre & Cultural Center’s Re-Opening Doesn’t Look Promising
I’ll admit it. I’m a total film nerd. And so is my longtime boyfriend. The both of us actually caught one another’s eye at Adam Spector’s Cinema Lounge/D.C. Film Society. The topic was whether or not you could separate Woody’s Allen’s professional life from his personal life. This was in the midst of he and Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, coming out with her sexual abuse allegations against him. I took the unpopular position that, yes, it mattered — what he did in his personal life and that he shouldn’t get a pass for being a creative and artistic genius. “Oh, my God! You guys are such dorks!!” our daughter exclaimed when we told her how we met. Nearly seven years later, I’m happy to report that Paul and I are still together and that we’ll always be forever grateful to Adam Spector and his group for bringing the two of us together.

Why St. Ives Scrub Just Might Exacerbate Your Skin Woes
We’ve all heard of this scrub. Everyone loves it and for almost 15 years, it has received the Reader’s Choice Award from Allure magazine. In fact, it’s proudly emblazoned on every bottle of this scrub, along with a seal, assuring us that it’s made with 100% natural exfoliants for clean, glowing, smooth, and super-soft skin. Furthermore, it promises us that these natural exfoliants are made up of walnut shell powder and apricot fruit extract. So it must be fantastic, right?!

Joah Lip Colors: A Comprehensive Review
I first discovered Joah’s Wat-a-matte Matte Liquid Lipstick in CVS while my boyfriend, stepdaughter, and I were vacationing in Ocean City, MD in 2019. My favorites are Sangria, Berry Bliss, and Cherry Cola (It is more of a hot pink shade upon wearing it than the burgundy color featured on Joah’s website in the item description for it, but it does look good on me.) and the packaging is adorable. It is very heavy and takes a little while to get used to the heavy feeling on the lips and it’s very drying. I’d use a light lip gloss on top of it to either lighten the shade and/or hydrate the lips. This lipstick has awesome staying power and it’s one of my favorites of Joah’s lip products and in general. I always wanted to try a couple more shades in this line, such as Cherry Tart and Kandy Apple, but I can’t justify spending any more money on lipstick when I already have so much. I give this four out of five stars: A-.
