Effects of 1973 Oil Embargo
Written by David Charles, February 5, 2021 The world is a home to different countries of diverse cultural, ethnic, religious and political orientations. On this basis, some countries enjoy unflagging supports and loyalties between and among themselves while some are regarded as enemies as their relationship could be described as that of a cat and a rat. Over the years, The United States of America and Israel have formed a cordial relationship that has birthed fruitful cooperative efforts between these two great nations. Military, economic as well as technical assistance have made the roots of their relationship firm and it appears unlikely if not impossible to be cut off. Based on the foregoing, this article seeks to explore the effects of the 1973 Oil Embargo placed on The United States of America and its allies. Before swimming in the pool of discussion, it is pertinent to bring to the fore the historical antecedents that resulted in this economic punishment.

The Subtle Art Of Saying No
Written By: H M Hines February 4, 2021 Most people, especially people who are part of a marginalized community, have a hard time saying no to others. This is especially so in situations of employment, but also extends to how we use our time outside of work. Whether the question is “Can you pick up an extra shift?” or “Can you chaperone the field trip?” we are stymied and often overcommit ourselves just for fear of confrontation. Sadly, this social conditioning is easily taken advantage of by authority figures, partners, parents, friends, etc. Society definitely gives “certain people” (we know who, let's be honest,) permission to take, while reinforcing that other people are to be taken from.

NHS Vaccination Cards
Written By: Leon Zadok - January 21, 2021 After months of hiding away and dodging one another in an attempt to avoid contagion, the coronavirus vaccine will, undoubtedly, bring much peace of mind to many. Now we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

TERF is not Feminism
Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism Written By Leon Zadok – January 15, 2021 Feminism is a multifaceted beast. Proponents of feminism, I'm sure, would all say they are 'for' gender equality for women. But, the specifics of what that means can be contentious. As LGBTQ communities become more present in our collective consciousness, disagreements about what it means to be a feminist have exposed new darkness within a gender, just beginning to reap the benefits of emancipation.

The Myth Of Meritocracy
Written by: TJ Hyland - January 10, 2021 I want to talk about the Meritocracy that we live in, how it's related to our belief in a higher power, and why it's such a pervasive concept and a sham. Meritocracy is a social system where success and status depend on the individual's talents, abilities, and effort. It's supposed to be a system where elevation happens because of personal merit. If you can't explain why something is without referring to omniscience, that thing doesn't exist. Omniscient creators as a concept was created by those who sought to consolidate power, and rules from a higher power were the excuses they used to explain away the injustice that others feel when they are suffering in poverty. A higher power is the ultimate appeal to authority that can never be surpassed. An omniscient magical all-powerful ruler is like that argument we had as kids where we cry out, times 1 million, times 1 trillion, "times infinity!" because nothing tops infinity.

Gender Biased Studies
Charles Fain Lehman wrote an opinion piece on February 22, 2018, for freebeacon.com about a study that claims it helps explain persistent male and female gaps in hard sciences. The original study can be found at journals.sagepub.com, and I left a link to the article and the original study below. The study focused on the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, referred to as STEM. The abstract explains that the underrepresentation of girls and women in STEM fields is a constant concern of policymakers. They used an international database on adolescent achievement to evaluate the differences in the sexes across many countries. The study showed that more girls appear capable of college-level STEM study programs than those enrolled at the college level. This was determined by evaluating adolescent academic performance in Science Math and Reading, compared to the percentage of young women who enroll in the STEM field of college study.

A Silent War
A Silent War: One Woman's Experience In The Security Sector Written By: Lady Venomous - December 27, 2020 I work in the Security Industry as an Account Manager for a company in Silicon Valley with a Master's Degree in Communication, and I am a woman. I figured out a way to remain healthy and resilient in this field despite the infestation of toxic masculinity, sexual harassment, stereotyping, and discrimination against women. Even at the self-proclaimed progressive corporations, I've experienced men of all ages doubting my competency and intelligence because I am a woman. At this point in my life, I've cultivated self-discipline, restraint, temperance, and a beast-mode mentality of out-performing and out-earning everyone in my field. I figured out how to make it work, but that does not mean the challenges end here. The challenges get worse periodically, depending on the new hire culture. Every woman entering this field should brace herself for a world built to destroy her and come armed.

Toxic Conservatism
Toxic Conservatism And Toxic Religion Written by TJ Hyland December 27, 2020 Freedom is a spectrum of privilege. It has never been a right to act without consequence, it has and always will be a privilege. In order to achieve equality, the consequences of our actions must have equal weight and equal rights under the law for all citizens of the law. None of us are truly free. We have documentation identifying us as belonging to the state, so freedom is a social construct, and the spectrum of freedom is subjective. Yet, it is a progressive movement we must fight for because tradition aims to keep us, slaves. We may not be able to free our bodies, but we can free our minds. Only when we can do that, can we learn how to change the system.

Beyond The Red Hat
Written by H M Hines December 12, 2020 Artist - BlackStar If you have a Bootlicker on your holiday shopping list, and we all seem to, you may be stressing out how to get them the perfect gift. Whether it's your uncle, the armchair constitutional law expert, your coworker and resident QAnon groupie, or your brother’s new knock off Tomi Lahren girlfriend, we all have that one person with whom we have so very little in common with on every level, that gifting is nigh impossible. If you picked the wrong name out of the Secret Santa drawing this year and are stuck scrambling for a gift for someone you’d sooner give the finger to than a present, have no fear, we have you covered.

Misandry
Written by Leon Zadok - December 21, 2020 Men rule the world. Should we care about a bit of prejudice thrown their way? If for one moment, we can think of society as being composed of just two genders we would all agree that women are more often victims than their male counterparts. Women account for almost all of the domestic violence cases reported. They are most often sexually assaulted, and not by other women. They have suffered and continue to suffer workplace discrimination that many male colleagues may simply not recognize. It is in no doubt they are discriminated against by virtue of their gender - attributed at birth and, to some, a perceived defect.

Consumer Economy
Written by Leon Zadok - December 17, 2020 Why do I have all these clothes? This morning, I opened up my closet and thought, “Why do I have so much stuff - too much stuff?” I hadn’t worn some things. I had rarely worn others. Yet, I had such a volume of cloth spewing about the place.
