Trees Don't Lie
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The old woman and her son had dreamed almost the same dream. Their dreams had disturbed them greatly, so they shared their individual encounters, their night visions, with care and trepidation to one another. Neither one really wanted to sound the thoughts that their brains were somehow trying to bury. Those thoughts demanded to be heard and seen, just the same though. There had to be some relief from the horror of what they had witnessed in that state of sleep consciousness. Maybe by exposing them they could take the heaviness off their shoulders?

Not Just an Aunt,
Today, had she lived...my Aunt 'Cile (short for Lucile) would have been 100 years old! It boggles the mind to be old enough to think of Centurian milestones in the people that had a larger-than-life influence on you since birth. But today, I pay respect to her and all she has done for me and her other nieces and nephews. Also to honor the person she was as an individual.

The ClockTop Story - March 2024
############################################### The following are all fictional snippets of life's crucial moments caught by a time machine called a "clock." Whether we are controlled by time or we seek to control time, we are all subject to the meaning it conveys. Time reminds us there are forces at work beyond what we see. It is concretely set. As the adage says, it waits for no man. Time is a teacher. Time can be joyous or sad; the clock is very fickle and isn't at all prejudicial. It isn't fair, but then again, it really is...It's a vicious dictator and also a loving friend who reminds us to sleep, eat, and rise again for another day. The clock reminds us that we are spinning around constantly. In all of our spinning, we are chided to slow down, speed up, or stay in control. Until one day we cease to spin at all.

Memoir of a Nursing Career
The Road that led to Nursing I was the firstborn in my family, with siblings coming seven and ten years later. My parents married and divorced twice, drank and argued, etc…I came from the original dysfunctional family. As a child, I had no input in decision making, yet I was determined that my siblings should be shielded from some of the hurts and insanity that I had been exposed to. So early on, I became an advocate.

Untangle our Mess!
I woke early before daylight. This morning my head is full of prayers for my loved ones. I talk to God about each of them. I know my concerns are no surprise at all to Him, and that He is probably already actively working in our lives, weaving our lives into something that makes so much more sense from His point of view, which is so far above mine. (A beautiful full moon shines from out of the western sky with a huge golden circle around it to illuminate these thoughts in my heart.)
