Nepal, a small mountainous country surrounded by two large countries is rich in culture. Nepal is surrounded by India in the east, south, and west, and by China on the north. The country has its own unique identity, and cultures along with the mixed flavor of Indian and Tibetan cultures. Have you ever seen those breathtaking mountain ranges? Nepal is home to fourteen peaks higher than 22,970 feet including Mount Everest, which is the world’s highest mountain.
From Mountains to the Sea
I look at the mountains standing tall behind me for the last time. Somehow, they look different today. They look pretty with the sunlight falling upon their icy cold peaks. But they also look sad. They look betrayed. I would know that feeling anywhere, after everything the feeling of betrayal is fresh in my memories and is running down my cheeks in the form of tears. I wonder if this is how those mountains felt when I said “I wish I could see the seas, the vast blue deep oceans”. I clutch the homemade yak cheese packet in my hand. I had refused to keep it in the luggage. The lady hands me new pair of mittens. I remember she gave me new pair of mittens when she first came to our village. I was excited back then but not now. All kinds of emotions are swirling inside my head.

Ughhhh, I have to attend zoom lectures again...........? This is getting so boring. This is exactly how I feel every morning. Don't get me wrong I enjoy learning, but honestly online classes suck. But being safe is far more important than getting bored, right? As a microbiologist, I can guarantee you that viruses mean bad business. It took me some time to get used to learning online. I grew up in Nepal, a small mountainous country located in East Asia. You may or may not have heard about it, but I hope "Mount Everest" will certainly ring a bell. Nepal is home to monasteries, yaks, and eight of the world’s highest mountain peaks including Mount Everest. You can't imagine the faces I get when I tell people that although I am from Nepal, my hometown is not in the Himalayas."Chitwan", which in local language translates to the "heart of the jungle" is located in the Terai region of Nepal. I spent 18 years of my life in Chitwan because of which it certainly holds a special place in my heart. My words won't do any justice to the beauty of my hometown, but I will try my best......
