Mistakes Beginner Filmmakers (and Photographers) Make...#4
Lighting for video takes some skill. It’s not an easy task. It took me a while to figure out what looks right, what looks natural, and what the heck I actually wanted when I was given a script or wrote my own script with specific settings.

Mistakes Beginner Filmmakers (and Photographers) Make... #3
Lighting is key (no pun intended) to having great photos and videos. If you have no light, then all you’re going to see is darkness. The camera doesn't see light like we do. What you may think is too much light might not even be enough to get the look you want in your shot; and the most common thing I hear from people (and sometimes myself) is “I’ll fix it in post.”

TikTok Whipped Coffee Turned into Latte...YUM!
I've seen the whipped coffee recipe all over TikTok and Instagram and have even tried it myself. Personally, I think it's too bitter no matter how much sweetener you put in it. So this morning I came up with an idea to make something new with the came concept.

How to Survive Quarantine...
If you're like me, you're out of a job (either permanently or temporarily) and not sure what to do with your "free time." I feel like I'm a high schooler again on spring break that sucks. Can't go anywhere, can't see my friends, or promote my small photography business if I can't photograph people. This is where my creative mind came up with ideas for quarantine hobbies and activities.

Mistakes Beginner Filmmakers Make...
I've been making "movies" since I was about eight or nine. I had a cheap, palm sized camcorder that had horrible speakers, recorded horrible audio, and always over/under exposed everything! EVERYTHING! My friends and I on New Years Eve would create skits, act them out, and I would be there with my camera to capture it all. Over the years, after attending high school and college I would look back at my work from many years ago and see many mistakes made that I just can't do any more because I've learned how to correct them and new ways to help prevent them from happening by accident. I would point out all the errors and then tell myself what I would do to make that look better.

The Partnership
I've heard it said that every story must have a beginning. That moment in your life that changed everything; where a simple start became something more. My beginning started the moment I, Katherine, stepped foot into the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (N.B.C.I.) after leaving the life I dreadfully hated. There I met a new friend, a partner, an ally, who stood by me no matter what, and she had my back as much as I had hers.
