I was very excited walking into this movie. I’m a huge fan of the X-Men movies, both the good and the bad. I love the heroes and their powers; I love the social commentary the movies invite. Even the worst movies, The Last Stand and Apocalypse, have some nice action scenes, and of course the classic Charles vs. Erik frenemy dynamic. Also, I’ll put my spoiler warning here, there are a few bits in here where I discuss the ending and what not.
Keeping a journal can be a lot of work. I've tried to have a daily journal where I write things to get out all my feelings for the day. When that became too much, I tried to do at least one sentence a day. Still, I couldn't keep up with it.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love Godzilla. I’ve watched the Japanese films and loved all of them, from the puppets of the past to the modern CGI Shin Godzilla of recent years. America has had little success with Godzilla. There’s that 1998 tragedy that ruined the giant fire-breathing lizard, and the 2014 reboot that focused too much on the humans instead of the GIANT FIRE-BREATHING LIZARD.
There have been many times when I've wanted to give up on myself. Some days I thought my mental illness would destroy me. Other times, it would be thinking I wasn't good enough to pass my classes, get a job, or get my writing published.
We can all appreciate a photogenic dog. They’re cute and cuddly, and they love unconditionally. Dogs are my favorite creatures in the universe. Not surprisingly, many others feel the same way. Social media has given us a great way to share the cutest pictures of dogs. Instagram is a treasure trove of the cutest dog pictures around. I’ve spent too much of my free time staring at tail wagging, tongue flopping cutie pies. With so many cute photos out there, it’s easy to miss some gems out there. I follow a couple of great accounts who have under 1,000 followers at the time of me writing this. I hope these ones keep growing, and I strongly encourage you check these sweet pups out! Plus, I have a few insta-pups at the end local to Boston that I’ve met; I’ll let you know how lovely they are in person!
Was this episode visually stunning in places? Yes. Did we get Clegane Bowl? Yes. Was the music fantastic? Of course, as always.
