Losing a Sibling
Losing a loved one or someone that you really care about is never that easy. I lost people when I was growing up but it was different because I really wasn’t that close to them. It is hard losing someone close to you whether it’s a family member or a close friend. I’ve lost relatives and friends of the family growing up but the hardest one of all was losing my brother. My brother is the second oldest out of eight kids. Even though he was older than me, we were close. Losing my brother was one of the hardest days of my life. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a day before my brother had passed away that my mom had gotten a phone call from one of his friends saying that he’s in the hospital. After my mom, had gotten off the phone she just started crying while I and my two other brothers were trying to figure out what was wrong. My mom told us that our brother Lifi was in the hospital.

Living in Hawaii
I lived in Hawaii from February 2016 to February 2019 because of the Army. Living in Hawaii did have some benefits. Sometimes I wish that I was back in the states because I can get on the road and drive/fly to different states. Hawaii is just a small island and driving around the island takes about an hour depending on traffic and the weather.

Single Parent Life
How many of you are single parents? How do you handle raising a child(ren) and working a full/part-time job by yourself? Some or most people don’t realize how hard it is being a single parent raising 1 or 2 kids by yourself and working a full/part-time job. I’ll tell you my experience as a single mom raising a kid while being on active duty in the Army.

Losing My Dad
I remember like it was yesterday. It was a Friday and I had just dropped off my son at daycare because my unit had a training holiday. I just got home and went to my room to relax a little bit before I went to go run errands. My dad was in the back yard mowing the lawn and my mom went to go outside to check on my dad because she didn’t hear the lawnmower anymore. I went to the back to see if my parents needed anything before, I went to go run my errands. I saw my dad lying on his hip on the ground.
