My Top Three Food-Bliss Moments
Food has always been a fascinating topic for me to write about because it usually has an added psychological element. My relationship with food has always been back and forth. As a child, I grew up in a poor household, and when my father died, that made it even worse. Still, I remember being proud of being able to eat an entire box of macaroni and cheese by myself. I also remember the first time I fell in love with food and experienced pure euphoria from eating something I had never had before.

Real Talk: I Don't Always Like My Dog
Let's just clear the air right now - I do love my dog. Very much. I would be absolutely lost without Willow. But just as it is perfectly acceptable for mothers and fathers to admit that having children isn't all bursts of sunshine and rainbows like we portrait it to be on social media, pet ownership is just the same. Especially when your dog is made up of several breeds that are smart, high energy, and stubborn.

Heads or Tails? Why Not Both.
My dog is more than a dog; she's a superhero, a wonder pup, if you will. It is by chance that we even crossed paths and found each other. You see, I had just left the psych ward at the hospital after a nasty breakup that caused a suicide attempt. I did a month in intensive outpatient therapy and then another month in group therapy and was just about to return to work when I decided to go on a road trip to see family.

Valkyrie
My task is to write a letter, simply to "the strongest woman I know," and that my dear is you. There is hardly a person on this planet that has gone through the trials and tribulations that you have and have survived, and oddly enough, you've done more than survived. You've excelled and exceeded every expectation of you and then some.

Add To Cart: Bones For My Furbaby
Let's just admit one thing to each other upfront. Social media has made it so that we feel obligated to live up to a certain image. It's "keeping up with the Joneses" but on crack. That being said, it has also connected us in ways that we would have never known otherwise.

Spring Forward Motivation
Whenever I am preparing for another stint of vanlife, I always have to pair down my belongings. With the emergence of spring, there is this terrible thing called Daylight Savings that doesn't save anything. Instead, we lose something - an hour of sleep. Talk about rude.

Leo: The Good, The Bad, and the Loyal
Born in late August under an unruly summer sun, I truly embody all that is Leo. Fiery passion, loyal and proud. I have my flaws and my boons and wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’ve never met a Leo you liked before, it’s because you haven’t met me. We have a lot to offer, both good and bad.

The Envelope
There I sat, warming my hands with some tea and tapping my foot as I anxiously waited for my friends to show up. It was a cold day and as I watched people walking by hugging the lapels of their coats closed or rubbing their hands together and breathing into them to warm them. Each time the bell on the door clanged, signifying that someone entered I jumped up hoping it was a friend and sank disappointed when it turned out to be someone I did not know. After what felt like an eternity the first of my friends arrived.

Apoptosis
I don't know what happened. One minute we were talking, the sun's rays hit your hair just right, and it was like you wore a halo. The whole room basked in your light. Your pale skin was so smooth and crisp against the contrast of your maroon shirt. I don't remember what I said, but you threw your head back and laughed a full-bellied laugh, the kind that always warmed my soul and made my heart skip a beat. I never thought I was funny until you laughed the way you did in that cafe. For all I know, you made me funny.

An Astonishing Way To Drive Into A Fresh Start
Every year my resolution is to not set any resolutions. For years, this has worked for me. I considered it humorous, and because of my naturally rebellious nature, it fit my lifestyle. But as I have aged, I have come to appreciate things like structure, organization, and goal setting. Please don't tell my parents but I think I'm finally growing up.
