The Lost Gardens of Stourhead
ACT I Lottie was strolling the gardens of Stourhead. Social gatherings were something Lottie would actively avoid every time one would occur. She hated how her family, aunts, cousins, and uncles, would cramp into dark overcrowded rooms stuffed to the brim with terrible friends and horrible quiches. Rooms full of people she hardly knew, old faces she hardly recognised. Yet, was expected to talk to them as if they had been in her life every single day since her birth when of course, they hadn’t been. She knew they didn’t care what she said, what she did or what she looked like they were going to judge her regardless. She knew these gatherings were for bragging and not catching up. A competition for the most attention. She had wondered if they had realised she was absent and then concluded they probably hadn't noticed. They were all too busy talking about themselves. She, on the other hand, was a ghost of the living. Misguided and alone with a lot of unfinished business; victories to be won, and lessons to be learned in defeat.

Let’s Talk Sex and Disabilities
Hear ye! Hear ye! Disabled people have sex! I know can you believe it? Disabled people are in fact people - huzzah! When I first googled sex and disability I laughed. The alternative questions that popped up alongside made me consider a lot of things and boy you able-bodied do have some funny questions: 'Can disabled people have sex?', 'Can disabled people get turned on?', or 'Can disabled men still get it up?'

Remember, Remember the 5th November!Top Story - November 2022
I and millions of other Brits will be gathering in farmer's fields freezing to the bone this weekend. As we gaze in awe at the cold night backdrop and its pretty colourful display. Smells of gunpowder smoke slowly infiltrate the odours of cooked meats, kebab vans and children's sweets. The crowd huddled together in darkness in between sparklers, LED plastic sticks, and flickers of light all celebrating Guy Fawkes Night (Bonfire Night).

The Green Road to Legality
In the same week Germany legalised the recreational use of cannabis, the British police decided to change their approach to the 'war on drugs' by targeting users instead. Although I can see the logic behind this idea (especially for Class-A's), I fear it will only criminalise cannabis users, especially disabled people like me, who use it for medical purposes. One in five people in the U.K has a hidden disability, ninety per cent of which do not require a wheelchair. I just know that we will be the ones targeted first - the vulnerable. We always are, and the British state has forever had that attitude towards disabled people. Easy targets.

The Life of a Student Parent
It's late 2020, and we've all been let out for the first time since March. I feel sick, my period is late, and my boobs were especially tender; I was pregnant. S*** this wasn't supposed to happen yet. I was once told by some mystical lady I would have a child before 24 but I did not believe that would happen. I took a gap year between my Bachelors's and Masters's degrees to travel, work and learn how to drive, not be stuck in a global pandemic and fall pregnant. This was not how my life was supposed to be. I also lost my job because of the said pandemic, and for the first time I had to depend on the wealth fare system, and let me tell you, this was perhaps one of the lowest points in my life. I had failed.

The Empress: A Hidden Netflix Gem
It was late last night while in bed scrolling through my Netflix account that I stumbled across the period drama that is The Empress. After watching a snippet and with a 97% match, I went ahead and started watching and within minutes I was hooked. The Empress follows the story of Elisabeth of Austria (1837-1898) played by Devrim Lingnau. The synopsis is as follows:

My First Year on Vocal
I have officially been on Vocal for over a year now, and I've learnt a few things along the way. I wanted to write this article to help anyone who has just started on Vocal and give tips and tricks that I have found useful. When I first started on Vocal, I begged my friends and family on social media to subscribe to me, so that when I checked my stats at least I felt better about having a few subscribers.
