Murders at Bear Lake
CHAPTER 3 Chief Tom Drake is a little on the chunky side and balding, but he is a fair man with a heart of gold, as the town folk would say. Chief Drake could be firm when he had to be in order to keep law and order in his town, especially if someone broke the law. He was born and raised in Willow’s Ridge, which happens to be a rather small town where everybody knows everybody. He became Sheriff when he was twenty-four years old, but at the age of thirty-five, he became Chief. He has never seen such a mess as this in his whole time of being in law enforcement. Crimes like this just don’t happen in this town. You might have an occasional loud party thrown by the local teenagers, or a small fight between two rowdy boys, but never such a crime as murder.

The Shadow (Ep. 6, Pt. 1)
When I was eleven years old, I went to live with my grandmother. We lived in the house that she called home for thirty-eight years or so along with her many antiques and a few other family members. A time came for the local area to upgrade from its former self to a newer look. The road that ran in front of my grandmother’s house for so many years that once was dirt, became a paved roadway before I was born. So, for as long as I can remember it was a two-lane road that was soon to become four lanes of crazy traffic. She sold her house and property for apparently a decent amount because, in the Spring of 1984, we moved from North Carolina to Tennessee where we could be closer to the family that we did not get to see that often. I felt special because of being in the sixth grade for only around two months, but hey I passed so cool beans.

The Shadow (Ep. 6, Pt. 2)
Well, after all the excitement, the atmosphere seemed to calm down, and things were back to a normal feeling. Zayedie stood in the kitchen, and while putting away groceries, she stopped and turned around to face me while placing her left hand on her left hip.

The Tattoo (Ep. 5, Pt. 2)
After a few pick pockets along the way, Cade saw a tattoo shop on the corner. “Hmm, Doctor Kevin’s Tattoo. Oh yeah,” Cade said, as he walked inside. He saw all kinds of different art work on the walls, and an art book laying on the counter. As Cade flipped through the book, buzzing could be heard coming from the back. The buzzing stopped, and Cade looked up and saw a man wearing a green t-shirt with a frisbee disk on the front, jean shorts, and gloves, come through the strings of red beads that hung up in a small doorway.

The Dare!
“It was just a dare! He never came back out,” Jenny said with a worried tone in her voice, as she rushed in to see her best friend Mike, who was sitting in a booth at the local eating joint, the Grill’n Chill. Mike looked up from his burger and fries as she sat down quickly.

The Elevator (Ep. 4, Pt. 1)
The dreaded elevator… most people’s fear. The fear of falling to a horrible death from heights unknown; at least that is what Ella Grey, a sweet 87-year-old lady thought of when looking up towards the top of the apartment building where her grandkids lived. While gripping her walking cane in one hand, and her big purse in the other, “Well, it is now or never,” she said to herself as she started walking toward the man who was well dressed and wore a colorful hat. He was indeed the doorman but to Ella, she thought of him as a very tall, well-trained monkey.

Murders at Bear Lake
Chapter 1 The moon was shining bright on this mid-October night. The air was crisp and cool, while a soft wind whistled through the trees with a sound that could send chills up your spine. Everything had a shadow that night. An owl hooted into the night calling for its mate, and small animals scurried through bushes and leaves to find a hiding spot. Crickets had gone silent, because they were not alone; something else was in the woods as well. There was a shadow that stood within the trees. As the moon shone through the trees, something shiny could be seen. It was a knife with a reddish tint to the blade. As it dripped, it left a small puddle of blood around the leaves on the ground. Suddenly, the shadow was gone, and all was calm for the time being.

Sara's Comeback
Sara held onto Johnny as they rounded the curves up in the mountains. The trees were beautiful, and the air smelled fresh and clean. As they rounded a sharp curve, a car came from the opposite direction, and crossed the yellow line into their lane. Johnny tried to swerve out of the way, but there was nowhere to go. Sara screamed, “NOOO!!” as she tried to hang on, as the motorcycle hit the shoulder of the road. The tire bounced up, and Johnny lost control. As the motorcycle went off the road, Sara was thrown off, and she could hear Johnny yell out, “SARA!! right before the motorcycle rolled down the steep hill with a thundering sound of twisting metal, a loud crash, then nothing. Sara tried to move, but the pain was so intense that she blacked out.

The Well (Ep. 2, Pt. 2)
The next morning, I skipped breakfast and off to the barn I went, where Papa and Samuel were working on some of the stalls and some of the small machinery that Papa stored. I stood and watched them but said nothing. I turned to go and find Cassie, I wanted to show her the well and to see if she could hear anything. I went to the tire swing and that is where I found her with the little bunny.
