Why You Should Plant Moss Rose
It's finally Spring! You can finally go out and get some fresh air without having to bundle up in excessive amounts of layers. Spring is also the time of year when most will start growing their own plants. For some, you want a nice pretty plant to decorate your interior. Others are looking for plants to add to their yard's aesthetic. Moss Rose is a perfect plant that's both pleasing to the eye and easy for anyone to maintain. Moss Rose is a variation of Portulaca, a flowering succulent plant that comes in a variety of different types that can usually withstand harsh climates. Their fleshy succulent leaves store water making them able to adapt to dry weather. Depending on the variation some types can tolerate cold weather as long as there is no frost and others can withstand the intense tropical climates. Some Portulaca variants will even reseed themselves making them annual plants. Since these plants thrive in all sorts of climates and can take over an area. Some Portulaca variants are considered weeds to some gardeners.
People of Earth
Alien conspiracy theories and alien abduction allegations have been circling our society since at least the 1950s. With little to no evidence of whether these things are true or false. As well as complete government denial for decades. Many of these alien allegations and experiences have been looked at as just crazy talk. Even today in the year 2021, if you came out and told people we had specific species of aliens that have been watching and living among us. People would look at you like you were absolutely bonkers. Yet everyone can agree that there must be other life forms out there on other planets. In the world of People of Earth, a TBS science fiction comedy series, alien conspiracy theories come to life in a world similar to ours. The people of small town Beacon, New York socially shun the alien “conspiracy” group called StarCrossed. While we the viewers see that the aliens are in fact real and abducting people.
One Of My Embarrassing Secrets
As someone whose been labeled a bubble head and a ditz since childhood. I have had many embarrassing moments. To bumping into street poles head on to spitting out embarrassing thoughts while drunk in public. The list of horrible regretful actions goes on. There were so many embarrassing moments that it was hard for me to find one that stuck out the most. The one that has stayed with me to this day. To be quite honest I would have to choose an embarrassing moment from when I was 11 years old. Yeah I could talk about my drunken high school escapades which always ended in horrible decisions that could easily get anyone killed. During my high school days, I couldn't keep count of how many times I went in a car with a driver under the influence while I myself was under the influence. Half the time I just met the person and was taking a chance that they would actually drive me back home. I have no idea how I'm still alive and well, but I will share my most embarrassing elementary school moment instead. This is mostly because no one who was there knew I was to blame for this incident since a family pet got blamed for it instead. I do suspect my friend's parents knew it was me, but kept quiet.
Calm Your Mind With Music
Our brains are bombarded with an assortment of thoughts and emotions throughout the day. Whether you're stressed out about making a certain deadline or an exciting new idea has taken over your mind. You are constantly working your brain to exhaustion. This can be a big problem when you finally have time to kick back and relax because you find that you just can not relax. Your mind feels like it's going a thousand miles per hour. When I was a teenager I found that meditation is the best way to calm yourself and clear your mind. Like many teenagers that grew up with constant internet, television, and any other kind of screen time. Sitting still in silence is more nerve wracking than calming. Years ago a friend had told me to research “brain wave music” because the frequency of the music does effect your brain in either a positive or negative way. So over the years I've concocted a meditation playlist composed of brain wave songs that I like to enjoy every night before bed. I try to have a variety of different frequencies that are healthy for your body and spirit while meditating. Tapping into all of the chakras as they are all important. It's also not healthy to focus on only one chakra level. Since all of these songs are very long I normally just choose one per meditation session.
Life is Strange
The official introduction to the newest game in the Life is Strange series True Colors has just been released. Like many Life is Strange fans, I'm very excited and curious about the new game. Each Life is Strange game follows a different set of characters with a mysterious superhuman power that is possessed usually after a traumatic event in the game has happened. Players get to choose different decisions that the characters must make resulting in different outcomes for each scene and even for the whole game's ending. Life is Strange 1 and 2 are very different stories, but the story's similar style and reoccurring characters do tie the two games together.
The Orville: When Cancel Culture Has Gone Too Far
We are all aware of and maybe even joined in on cancel culture. Everyday people post about consumer items, businesses, their hobbies, and their own personal thoughts and feelings on the internet. We are bombarded with social ideas and mannerisms that blatantly say whether they are good or bad. No one needs to really think about anything anymore because social media and other media sources pretty much does that for you. Do you want to know how to bake a cake? Google it. Do you want to know what style of clothing you should wear? Again, Google it. It's all right there for you. You don't have to think at all. As of 2021, what happens if someone posts or even created a product that does not express the exact social ideas and mannerisms that the internet has labeled for us as acceptable? We the people go out and get rid of it with any means possible. We might write nasty comments to whoever the perpetrator is. We might call the perpetrator's place of business to get them fired. Basically we cancel them. It doesn't even matter when the unacceptable behavior happened. It could of happened 50 years ago and they still get canceled. This is all normal to us now. As a collective whole, we don't want to see anything that may be deemed bad. We want to make all bad things disappear. This all sounds great. Who wouldn't want to get rid of all the horrible people and companies out there? At the same time is there such a thing as going too far with cancel culture? The science fiction series the Orville's seventh episode Majority Rule depicts a 21st century Earth like society where cancel culture and social justice completely dominates their way of life. You thought losing your job and being socially ostracized from society was bad. What if you lived in a world where the punishment for being canceled was a full on lobotomy.
