Musical Alphabet Letter E
Usually, we choose songs we like by the melody, the lyrics, and by the musical genre. I’m starting a series with songs from all kinds of genres going according to the alphabet. Charming Charleston
The capital of West Virginia Charleston is located at the confluence of the Elk and Kanawha Rivers. State Capitol Building was completed in 1932 and this building and the West Virginia Executive Mansion make up the West Virginia Capitol Complex. It is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Capitol faces the Kanawha River and is flanked by two wings. You can get a tour of this 333-room building. At 292 feet this is the tallest building in the state.

Manaus on the Negro River
Manaus is the capital of the vast state of Amazonas in northwestern Brazil. The city sits on the banks of the Negro River. This is the major departure point for the surrounding Amazon Rainforest. East of the city the Negro River merges with the Solimoes River creating an amazing visual phenomenon known as the “Meeting of the Water”. The combined tributaries form the Amazon River.

Lahore on the Ravi River
Pakistan is officially known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and is a federal parliamentary republic in South Asia. Its coastline runs along the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. Lahore is the capital city of the Pakistan province of Punjab and is an intellectual, cultural, and artistic hub.

Adventures in Bolivia
Bolivia is in the central part of South America. The country has a varied terrain spanning the Andes Mountains, the Atacama Desert, and the Amazon Basin rainforest. The commercial center and the capital city of the Santa Cruz Department is Santa de La Lierra on the Pirai River.

Olympia on the Deschutes River
Olympia is the capital of the US state of Washington on the West Coast. The city sits on the southern end of Puget Sound where the Deschutes River meets saltwater and the glaciated slopes of Mount Rainier can be seen on the eastern horizon.

Kuala Lumpur on the Klang River
The name Kuala Lumpur means “muddy confluence” in Malay. It lies at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak Rivers. The capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is known by locals as KL. It has an amazing modern skyline that is dominated by the Petronas Twin Towers. The city has impressive British colonial-era landmarks. There are many interesting things to do and see in this lovely city.
