Tucker, you little... !@#$
I’m sure if you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve heard of Shiloh, Lassie, Beethoven, hell even Marley, but no dog can compare to Tucker. You see we’ve only had Tucker for about 2 months, and he has already proven to be more than a handful. Granted like the saying “be careful what you wish for”, the saying is very much true. To give you a backstory on how Tucker came into our lives I have to start back in May. My roommate Shannon had recently lost her dog of 11 years and the house felt a bit empty. Sure, we still had Gracie-May (Pitbull) & Oliver (Cat), but the loss of a pet is difficult on anyone. As a collective we discussed whether or not to get a new dog, however my roommate needed time, which was understandable. Over the next few months Gracie-May’s behavior started to change. It was apparent that she was grieving the loss of Daisy. Her appetite had changed, she wasn’t chasing Oliver around as much. So, my room mates (Shannon and Allura) decided that maybe it was time to get a new dog.

If Mexican Cornbread was a spirit animal!
If Mexican cornbread was a spirit animal. Let me start of by saying that this is definitely not your mothers or grandmother’s cornbread! When I was first introduced to this cornbread I was only five years old. Now if I’m being honest, I wasn’t quite fond of the cornbread back then, and I believe because my father made it. Also, I had only had ever had it that one time, before I decided to recreate myself. You’re probably wondering, well If you weren’t fond of the recipe back then, how could you possibly have a taste for it? I’m just as perplexed as you are, however it was something about cornbread and chili beans that I was craving. I thought long and hard and for some reason that memory of that recipe came to mind.

Is it on?
Is it on? BABY, when I tell you T.S Madison is the truth, and will continue to be the truth for all generations to come. Whether she’s rocking 22-inches, or rocking her crown on the “Queens Supreme Court” T.S is authentic to herself, and unapologetic about it. When I first was introduced to T.S Madison (on YouTube), it truly was a “need a snickers moment”, moment. There is a “Je ne sais quoi” factor about her. I say that with the upmost regard, because you truly don’t know what she’s going to do next. She is constantly reinventing herself, whether it’s being on her own channel, making guest appearances with Rupaul, or advocating for trans rights. Her delivery is SAVAGE! Brutal at times, but honest. She is passionate about her community, and it shows.

They choose you!
At times you may feel that you have the power to choose your tattoo; and the for the most part you are correct, however in my case 3 out 4 of my tattoos chose me. Yes, you read that correctly, my tattoos chose me. The 3 tattoos I am referring, to are a tribal peacocks feather, a tribal black widow, and a wolf in a dreamcatcher. It’s always that adrenaline rush when you’re about to get new ink. It’s EXHILIRATING! Let me take it back to when I got my peacocks feather. It was something about feathers that was trending at the time, and of course I felt the need to follow suit, but I felt the need to be original. Feathers can be very dainty and elegant, which is fine, but I wanted something a little more edgy. I figured hey let’s get something tribal, very minimal not to flashy. Saw the perfect image on google and knew right away that was it. Now where I got my tattoo, was the inside of someone’s garage. Now before you judge, it was quite sanitary okay! He used fresh needles and I felt confident that he knew what he was doing. Now it had been about 3-4 years since I had a tattoo, and this would be considered my 2nd tattoo so I was nervous. Needless to say, my tattoo turned out great.

Do better, you have to be better!
So my initial reaction to hearing that Vocal had a contest geared towards writing, I thought let me see what’s up. Sure enough, I submitted an entry prematurely not reading all the details in its entirety. Naturally it was rejected, and naturally I was frustrated. Then I thought, well maybe I need to dig a little bit deeper and really get an understanding of the contest rules. To my surprise it involved Tik-Tok! First thing that came to mind was, oh great I can’t escape social media if I wanted to. Reading a bit further the contest was about “For you” and highlighting someone who was not popular or viral. Immediately I was sold. Now was the tricky part, who to highlight? After browsing my “For you” section tirelessly (all of 30 seconds) I realized that the person I should highlight is myself. For me.
