On the first day of December the dust is wiped from decorations, eliciting hay-fever-filled excitement. Trees are put up, wrapped in tinsel and contentment. Baubles are hung and fairy lights are turned on with the flick of a switch and the twinkle of an eye. Wreathes are placed like welcoming signs, heralding holiday happiness.
