Bubble Wrap was Invented to be Wallpaper
"A patent provides a creative person with the opportunity to reap the rewards of his ideas," – Barbara Hampton We all love bubble wrap. The squishy ball of air surrounded by plastic is one of the simplest joys one can have in life. So it comes as no surprise that their inventor must rake in some serious profits, especially when they hold multiple patents for the product. But, of course, all of this could have never happened as the company nearly decided to market the product as wallpaper before realising its true potential.

The Story of King Henry VIII
In England, there is a famous rhyming song that we learn at school that reminds us of the story of King Henry VIII. It goes: Divorced, Beheaded Alive, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived – referencing the six wives that the king had during his life. This is an integral part of British history and always comes up in tests while at school. It's just something you need to know here in England. If this is the first you are hearing of the infamous British king, then look no further. Here is an account of Henry VIII, king of Britain.

Russia Ran Out of Vodka
Russians are well-known for their love of drinking. Their long-standing love with vodka may be traced back to the country's founding. A bottle of the sacred liquid is a necessary item for most households, and no celebration is complete without one. No event in Russian history compares to the Red Army's victory against the German Wehrmacht, the liberation of Berlin, and the Third Reich's eventual surrender to the Allies on May 8th, 1945, a date that is still commemorated in Russia as a holiday known as "Victory Day." On May 8th, 1945, the celebrations of Victory Day were born out of the need to commemorate such an occasion – and the Russians celebrated hard.

The History of Nyan Cat
Do you remember the glorious days early 00s internet? When YouTube was not run by google and MySpace was the number one hit social site, times seemed more straightforward. The Internet was young, and it did not take much to entertain us for hours on end. This was the prime time for us to take the first step into the emerging meme culture, and cats were already established as the prime candidate for kings of the internet. Nobody knows why but it seems that cats have always been on the web, and people always loved them. Maybe it's because they're cute. Therefore, I want to share an actual part of internet history with you that some of the younger viewers may be witnessing for the first time – Nyan Cat.

What is a Country?
From continents to countries, states and provinces, cities, and neighbourhoods, the world we live in is divided into several categories. We all know our country's name, but have you ever considered what defines a country? A country is defined as a place with its borders and complete sovereignty. In recent times, this concept has evolved to the point where the term can now refer to various places that frequently fail to meet the definition's qualifications.

America's First Female Astronaut was Gay
Sally Ride made history on June 18, 1983, when she became the first American woman in space as part of the Space Shuttle STS-7 crew. During the 147-hour mission, Ride's role was to control a robotic arm that would assist in the launch of satellites into Earth's orbit. The journey was a huge success, and Ride, who was already a household celebrity, was hailed as a hero and a pioneer.

What are Moonquakes?
There are billions of people living in earthquake-prone areas worldwide, and as history (and several Hollywood depictions) have proven, earthquakes may be devastating. These natural events are dangerous and unpredictable, from toppling skyscrapers to cracking apart the earth's surface. Our lovely moon, nearly 240,000 miles away from our planet, deals with a similar problem, although these are referred to as moonquakes. Moonquakes receive little attention because no one lives on our lunar neighbour, yet they can be compelling and last up to 20 times longer than earthquakes on Earth. These quakes could be a significant issue if humans ever decide to occupy our nearest celestial neighbour, so understanding them is critical.

What does Tsundoku Mean?
If you know me in person, the first thing that will come to mind when asked to describe my bedroom is books. Over the years, I have accumulated a considerable collection of books on theatre and art as I like to research the sector to produce possible theories. It's something I enjoy doing and knowing I have my trusty book collection for when I need it makes me extremely happy. This has gotten out of hand recently as I have found a way of receiving free books on various topics in my community, so I have acquired more books than I had time to read. If I am completely honest, my reading game has fallen drastically over the past months. I seem to have managed my time poorly and thus lost valuable reading time. This has to change; I shall not be Tsundoku.

What is Déjà Vu
Have you ever entered a room and had a strange feeling that you've been here before in the same circumstances? That is what we refer to as déjà vu – a phenomenon that even science has trouble explaining. The term is famous across the globe due to pop culture and its idolisation in movies. Most of us know the term, but what is déjà vu, and what do we understand of it?

The World's Deadliest Tree
Next time you travel across the Caribbean or about the Gulf of Mexico, you may come across large clusters of mangroves along the beaches. The notorious evergreens known as the Manchineel Tree will be among these trees. The tree's notoriety stems from the fact that every component of it is very toxic. Toxins are found in all parts of the tree, including the bark, leaves, flowers, and fruits, some of which are more potent than others and others of which have yet to be identified. Coming into proximity of the tree might cause significant injury and perhaps death. Manchineel trees are thus painted with a red cross or a red band in many locations, along with warnings warning people to keep away from them.
