Rewoven and Redeemed
“6 pillow choices.” For some reason, that line caught my eye as I was scrolling social media winding down the workday one Friday in September so I tapped *See more…* The story was from a woman whose writing I’d been reading for a decade and a half, and this is part of the story she wrote this time:
Always a King or Queen
Inspired by the lyrics of “Narnia,” an original song by The Swingles Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy. Kings and Queens of Narnia, but children first. Children whose dreams were at risk of being strangled by fear and responsibility and growing up, until they fell through the back of a wardrobe and found their true calling.
Waking in total darkness is a disorientation that cannot be put into words. In the first moments, the barrier of light and eyelids and perception that stands between sleeping and waking does not exist. Thus, Mike Calafut lay still for a good while, blinking in that void which so neatly mirrored his brain’s pounding and oppressive emptiness.
