How Do We Get Humans To Treat Other Humans Like Humans?
I want to talk about something that has given me a lot of pause. It’s about the importance of using your voice, showing up for each other, and community. I am a citizen of dual nationality… which is very confusing, because I am both us and them, self and other, the byproduct of two countries – England and Tunisia – yet also unable to qualify as a true-blue native of either of them. You could say I am somewhat displaced. Although not nearly as displaced as those who have found themselves with no other option than to leave the only place they know and try to cobble their lives back together on unfamiliar land.

Solving The Climate Crisis For Her
Today, my youngest sister came to me with something that I never expected to hear her say. She was distraught, face pale, tears in her eyes as she sat down next to me. When I asked her what was wrong, she was hesitant to tell me, but I pressed the point, seeing how troubled whatever was on her mind was making her.

Perhaps it seems like we get no time for ourselves, or alternatively, that nobody has any time for us, making us feel isolated and disconnected from those we care about. The Coronavirus Pandemic, for many of us, has accentuated these worries, bringing them to the forefront of our minds. If we aren’t mindful of this, we risk spiralling. Things To Think About When Going To The Moon
In current times with the extraordinary advancements in the technological sector and the variety of innovative gadgets – each, tumbling out onto the market quicker than the last – we can forget just how little time we have had with these tools at our fingertips.

Victor Writes History
I don’t know what made me do it. Curiosity? Fear? Good old-fashioned boredom? I work the night shift in a library. When I started working there, I was convinced that I could never get bored because there was so much around me to read. Four months in and I felt like I was climbing the walls. That might have been why I wandered so readily into the – typically locked – room of historical archives. Access usually being reserved for senior employees of the library; it was about the only place in the building that I hadn’t been to.

Dancing Through The Tears
Over the course of our lives, we may find ourselves experiencing instances of grief. This can be the result of many different events or situations. For example, you may grieve the end of your time at school/college/university, you/your parents getting divorced, the death of somebody you love, and so on, and so forth…

Sensorium
Day 456… Or is it night? It must be his mind playing tricks on him, he can’t have been here this long. A young man pushes himself up from the hard, dusty ground upon which he had been sitting. It’s uneven and as he struggles to his feet, he almost stumbles back over again, slicing the inside of his finger on thickly woven brambles beside him. If he were to be honest with himself, the man still hadn’t figured out where ‘here’ is. A sigh of frustration leaves his lips as he realises that the tally marks in the mud, the ones he thought he had been logging, the only thing that had been helping him keep track of how long he has been there have seemingly vanished.

The Friendship Pyramid
We all wonder occasionally what our friends think of us. How they feel about us, how we feel about them… Sometimes it can feel as if we’re closer to them than they are to us and vice versa. If we’re too invested, or we just really enjoy the other person’s company, there becomes a potential for feeling insecure about our position in the friendship.

The Power Gap
At some point in your life, you may have come across an ominous-sounding proverb that goes something along the lines of divide and conquer or divide and rule. You may be wondering what it means, how it works, or if it is even still adhered to today… Surely we’re much smarter than to allow a singular person/institution/belief system to divide us right? Looking around at the state of our planet, the war, the famine, the infighting amongst groups who would normally stand united, and the inequity marginalised people are still facing… it is unfortunate to say, but we still seem to be very much susceptible to a motto that is thousands of years old.

The Quiet Ones Are The Worst
I am the quiet one, and I am the worst! Beware all of you loud people, as us quiet people are most definitely staying silent because we are rude/secretly judging/hate you. In fact, we’re so despicable, it would probably be a much better use of your time to completely ignore this article! Don’t let us drain your delicate sensibilities, we’re not worth your time. Just leave us alone, that will show us, that’s exactly what we deserve.
