“Finding a Voice”: Chapter Ten
Lana walked briskly out of her class, determined to get back to the dorms before Ziggy came back from her morning class. She hadn’t spoken to the woman that morning, making an effort to get up before her, dress, and leave before Ziggy’s alarm even had gone off. The night before had been wonderful, filled with passionate sex, snuggling, and quiet conversation, but now that the moment was over, Lana felt awkward and a little embarrassed that she had let herself go that far with the other woman. She had never had an emotionally close relationship with anyone that she had dated, and from what she could gage, Ziggy was an emotionally based person. She didn’t know how to handle that or what to say to the other woman, especially after everything had happened between them, and she needed some time to think before moving forward.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Fourteen
Buck could feel her back tense as she lifted herself to her feet. She looked around, realizing that she had fallen asleep on the hotel couch and wandered over to her bed with the intention of lying down. She still had a few more hours until she had to be at the studio, and she had spent most of her night working with Ziggy to compile the perfect song for Olive. However, the time put into it had been a waste as she had nothing to show for their efforts. Ziggy had done her best to help, but nothing sounded right to Buck. The two worked through the night until she had passed out from shear exhaustion, and Ziggy… What happened to Ziggy? The question stuck in her head until eventually it was answered by the slender silhouette draped across her bed.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Fifteen
Ziggy sat on the bunk in the tour bus, taking deep breaths. The crowd outside roared as they waited for the band to exit the bus and go on stage, and Ziggy could feel butterflies roam around in her stomach as she prepared for her first big show. She had done her best to get some practice in before having to perform in front of such a big audience, worried that she might forget the lyrics to a song or accidentally play a wrong note. However, practicing on the bus was different from performing in the sound booth or even on stage, and Ziggy was worried about how she would sound when it counted.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Sixteen
Buck stood on stage and squinted through the bright lights, trying to find Olive. However, the light was too bright, and she could only see shadows of faces. Buck beckoned to a nearby security guard to escort her into the crowd and signaled for the band to begin playing before she left the stage. Buck walked through the crowd, looking for Olive amidst the thousands of screaming fans.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Seventeen
Ziggy watched out the windows as the bus took the Dupont exit off Interstate 5 and headed into the city. The scenery in the area was lit up by the streetlights, making everything look like a gorgeous painting, and as they toured further, she began to see vintage shops come into view. “This is beautiful,” she said mostly to herself. She had never seen anything as peaceful as this place looked and was excited to see how the nightlife was.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Eighteen
Buck woke up suddenly and looked at the sleeping woman beside her. Everything had happened so fast that she didn’t even remember getting to her bunk. Buck rubbed her eyes, looking at her phone only to find out that it was the next day.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Nineteen
Ziggy soaked in the details of the morning, knowing that Olive’s return would impact the intimate growth that she had shared with Buck the night before. She knew that she shouldn’t have expected anything to last between the two of them. Buck had avoided her since Olive’s return, and though she felt like the two of them should talk, she didn’t want to push it.

“Don’t Tell Me Twice”: Chapter Twenty-One
Weeks had passed since their concert in Seattle, and for the first time since she went on tour, Ziggy felt comfortable. She had gotten used to the everyday activities of the band and had even built closer relationships with Spike and Jemma. The drama that Olive had caused was long gone, and since then, Ziggy hadn’t heard from Viola. During this time, Buck seemed to have recovered from the chaos that Olive had caused and her and Ziggy had become the best of friends. They had yet to fully discuss the night of intimacy that they had shared, and Ziggy was careful to put a wall up around Buck when it seemed like they were growing too close so that she didn’t leave her heart unguarded.
