I've been writing since I learned how, but those have been lost and will never see daylight (I hope).
I'm an Indie Author, with 30+ books published.

Across the Night Sky
The Bifrost, the bridge that carried the spirits of fallen warriors to the halls of the gods, was described as a "rainbow of three colors". Whether this applies to the Northern Lights themselves, or merely the Norse lacking names for some of the colors/shades that appear in a standard rainbow is up for debate.
The Museum Raider
This started thanks to a Tumblr prompt requesting a kind of "reverse Indiana Jones" action movie, where the protagonist steals sacred cultural artefacts from museums and returns them to the original owners. (Preferred casting for the lead: Lupita Nyong'0)
Becoming An Evil Overlord
Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. I had no idea how my best friend, my Evil Empress and Dark Overlady, managed it, when the midnight sky was almost black, far from any description of 'blushing', but she did.
Fanfiction: The Free Writing School
The most valuable writing advice I ever got was "Don't give up your day job". As such, I didn't spent my post-high school years chasing a Creative Writing degree. I did an apprenticeship, followed by 6 - 12-month Trade School courses, interspaced with years in various Care and Retail industries, as well as a brief stinit in Education. Nothing glamourous or news-worthy, but that was never the goal. I just wanted a job that paid the bills and let me write.
