Neuro-SpicyTop Story - April 2023
*Neuro-Spicy, for those unaware, is a term coined when searching for an alternative to the "Functioning" labels, where someone compared the degree to which a person was affected by Autism, ADHD or other conditions to the spice-level warnings on a menu. I'm usually about a 2-chilli, in that there's a noticiable effect on my daily life but it's usually under control. In situations like the one described in this story, I can drop to a 3- or 4-chilli rating, where I can't talk and recovery time is needed. 5-chilli rated moments - where you're crying and screaming for a milk jug/Autistic Burnout or Meltdown - are rare, but they happen.

The Right To Refuse
As the ground fell away beneath us, I started to relax, leaving my worries back down on earth, where they belonged. We - my conference-bound co-workers and I - had made it through the airport with a minimum of drama or delays. I found it worth mentioning, because that was rarely the case, given who we were travelling with. Lila was seemingly allergic to things like forward planning, and had never met an inconvenience too small to raise a stink over. Because she was the CEO’s niece and the daughter of the company's biggest investor, her problems were made into our problems, even when we wanted nothing to do with them.

Review: D&D - Honour Amongst Thieves
I didn't see much more than the early trailers for this movie, so I went in expecting to enjoy the eye-candy more than the plot. D&D-type movies are tricky to get right, and often end up confused whether they're supposed to be a fantasy flick or an action-adventure movie.

Imposter SyndromeTop Story - March 2023
An inalienable fact about Autistics is that we tend to struggle at life more than the average neurotypical. This is particularly true of female Autistics, who face greater barriers to get diagnosed, and find it harder to ger support when they are. It doesn't particularly help that common co-morbids of Autism are the Trauma Twins: Anxiety and Depression. As such, on the occasion that Autistic people find themselves succeeding, we promptly find ourselves taking up arms against Imposter Syndrome.
