Just a teen with a dream of travelling and writing for the rest of my life (but if I'm being realistic, maybe just a few trips a year as a journalism teacher :))
Marigolds in My Mailbox
Every Sunday, I find a marigold in my mailbox. Marigolds were my neighbor's favorite when I was a little girl. Mrs. Peters would always bring me a big bundle from her garden once they were in full bloom, and I would always sit them in the same clear vase in front of my window to make sure they got enough sun. Receiving those marigolds was the highlight of my summer. To thank her for them, I always made her cookies - double chocolate. The marigolds would be hand-delivered by Mrs. Peters, but the cookies were always left in her mailbox.
The Unsolved Mysteries of the Axeman and the Sodder Children
True crime has always been something that intrigued me, especially unsolved true-crime mysteries. The idea of someone committing a heinous crime and getting away with it, never to be brought to justice, is both terrifying and impressive.
Make a Mess and Clean It Up
Clothes. Drawers. Desks. Books. Blankets. Drag them all out and toss them outside of your room. That sounds like a horrible mess waiting to happen, doesn't it? That is what you need to do in order to reach an organized room. Why would you make a mess in the first place if you wanted that, though?
A Letter To Myself and You
Oh, you poor thing. This stream of sadness and regret all started when you went to the basketball games on Saturday. Your best friend picked you up early in the morning and drove twenty minutes to another town just to cheer on your boy's basketball team. Even though you had a smidge of doubt, deep down you knew they would win the first game of the day.
You Don't Have To Clean Your House
I woke up earlier than most people on this Sunday morning. Around 12 pm, I headed to TJ Maxx to return a mattress pad. I bought a new blanket from Target. I got some food for me, my sister, and my aunt. I came back home and cleaned my truck for at least an hour. My energy was drained and I had plenty of time to relax.
