The Pumpkins on my Roof
I tried to hush my breathing while hiding behind a tree in the dark. Three little pumpkins landed on MY HOUSE! I turned and whispered to my Dad, "When did they get here?" With all seriousness, he said, "They got here right before we got y'all from school. Boy, were they loud gettin on that roof." I hope they're just as excited as I am to see each other again. The pumpkins come every year, and I'm always stunned by how magical they look under the moon. The bright orange glow of their wacky grins mesmerizes me. It seems like they're laughing non-stop and cracking the funniest of jokes.
I Would have a Silly Death in the Zombie Apocalypse
*Spoiler at the end* A few months ago, I started rewatching The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead used to be one of my favorite shows, and I used to binge-watch it with no problem. I loved analyzing the politics and getting involved with the drama. Also, ZOMBIES! Now, this show has a different meaning to me as we move through the pandemic.
YouTube and Children’s Media
The digital transition of television has enabled a variety of free streaming for children's programming. YouTube is a vast video-sharing website that now feels like its own television channel. It's easy for children ages 2-11 to navigate and access YouTube on a smart TV, phone, or computer. YouTube has excellent quality educational content, but there is a regulatory issue that it's not a child-friendly platform due to the overwhelming amount of content and advertisements.
