My Significant Vocal Stories
Introduction When my number of Vocal stories was approaching one thousand nine hundred I realised that the number of the Vocal Story would correspond with significant dates or events. There were conjunctions that I missed or ignored but recently I posted story number 2,112 which was also the title of an album by Rush, so I decided to mark that with another story.

The Art of ..... Knowing What You Are On About
Introduction Ths is a Seven Days In post from 2012 and abservations from a friend on what I posted. One of the problems with old blog posts, and same is true for Vocal Stories is that links can disappear, so what was once a vibrant and informative piece may become a bit of a car crash. The initial words might be fine but if the links are integral to it then that can look, to say the least , unprofessional, although all the work I do is decidedly amateur, that is to say it is done because I want to do it. Saying it is amateur just meen it is not done purely for financial recompense.

Writing Their Own Requiem
Introduction This morning I picked out "You Want It Darker" by Leonard Cohen and thought I know at least three artists who knew they were not long for this world, and thought it might be an idea to share songs from these albums with you.

The DreichTop Story - April 2024
Dreich is borrowed from Scots dreich (“hard to bear, dreary, tedious, wearisome; interminable, long-winded; dull, uninteresting; slow, tardy; doleful, gloomy; baffling, difficult; difficult to reach, inaccessible”), from Middle English dregh, dri, drie (“burdensome; depressing, dismal; large, tall; lasting, long; long-suffering, patient; tedious; of blows: hard, heavy; of the face: unchanging, unmoved; of a person: strong, valorous”)
