What I've Learned About Self-Publishing Thus Far
A few months ago, I finally made a life-long dream come true; I now have a book with my name on the spine on the bookshelf behind me. Although part of me feels like it was kind of cheating, I did learn quite a bit about the self-publishing process.
The sun had begun to set behind the Rockies in an explosion of yellow, orange, and red hues across the sky. There was just enough light available for the six men to bring the wagon up to the abandoned cabin. Two had ridden on the wagon while the other four were on horseback. Two of the riders had an additional horse led by a rope behind them. As the driver of the wagon halted the horses, the younger, Carl, lept down and ran into the cabin. I’m still fairly new to writing stories on Vocal and am still in the process of finding my groove. To get me into the swing of things, I launched a 30-day challenge for myself to see if I can write a new article every day.
Why I Constantly Create Challenges for Myself, Even After I Fail
I’m always in a state of self-improvement. And no, I’m not anywhere close to being a perfect specimen of a human male. In fact, I fail a lot of the challenges I create for myself. But that’s where the learning begins.
How Feelings of Inadequacy Hinder Progress
I don't think I personally know a single writer who doesn't face some kind of impostor syndrome. This is when you simply don't feel good enough for the success you either seek or have achieved. But these feelings can be ultimately debilitating if you don't squash them now.
