I've written about some heavy things this year. About family drama and past trauma. But I have also enjoyed creating a few "Baker's Dozen" lists lately that have been a dose of fun to combat those heavier, serious themes! From songs off my Spotify Wrapped list, to podcasts, to YouTube channels, I've been enjoying spending my time on some more carefree posts for the end of the year! After creating Baker’s Dozen lists for my Spotify Wrapped playlist and podcasts I loved in 2021, it seems fitting that I should also create one for YouTube channels I loved this year! Why not, right? Unlike the podcasts list, the YouTube selection is a little more varied; there’s still crime and mystery to be had, but also channels that cover natural history - animals and evolution - therapy, and character and world development for writers and filmmakers! Though I listened to more than just true crime, unexplained mysteries, and creepy tales of cryptids, I largely listened to these things, so the list is dominated by podcasts that cover these topics with little deviation. This lets me see what I wind up with for holiday gifts as well as what funds I have to work with after holiday shopping. And gives me time to step away and reevaluate what I want to purchase.

If you are new to this "experiment", I suggest reading at least "A Dreamless Sleep" and recommend also checking out part one, simply for context. "Night Walker" is also useful, as it details my previously nocturnal walking and insomnia issues in the past, but "A Dreamless Sleep" is the one I suggest if you read nothing else.

Sometimes, I need a pick-me-up. Or a crap-ton of them…. Fortunately, in my years playing World of Warcraft, I’ve accumulated a number of letters from other players - often thanking me for good or kind deeds or gifts and giveaways. I hope I don’t come off as a humblebrag; I just want to share something that warms my heart on a rough day - and there are plenty of those in a year. I'm sure I'll be looking this article up in the future on bad days since I can look at many of the letters at once - without having to log into the game or looking all over my computers for the screenshots!

The Cuddly Power of Stuffed Animals - and Crochet Butterflies
And the Charizard plush from my former best friend. Stuffed animals; they're cute and cuddly bundles of fluff wrapped in softness. Some might argue that they're "only for children", but the fact is that they are nostalgic, and reminders of past joys, and can be huge comforts for some all-too adult themes. I should know - I recently dug my remaining few boxes out and wound up unexpectedly benefiting from their proximity.
