My One True Coming Of Age
What was life like before the event? My body was warm. Like indulging in a bubbly spa bath, a heat source was thawing out my insides. My motion was restricted and I was dependent on my female carer. Being slightly incapacitated meant my red home was all I knew. Still, my female carer provided my survival needs with food, rest, movement, sound and touch stimuli, and safety. Before the event, life was like clockwork, the same tasks at similar times each day.

The Un/real Human Mind
The biggest, best, brightest, bustiest, brawniest fantasy worlds are the mental stories unfolding in human consciousnesses. We don’t need to outsource to a film team or a novelist; the best stories have happened in a child’s mind while they were playing in the dirt. And the best stories are enveloped in pillars of truth.

Dancing As Disconnect
Threading the needle of life involves mindful awareness. A solid foundation of fabric materials produces high-quality textile work. For a human being, that solid foundation is Mother Gaia. To skillfully navigate through difficult moments and decisions in life, the writer dances on his local beach. Dance is a moving meditation. Living in a special part of Planet Earth, the composer is exposed to some beautiful natural landscapes. The author's alias, Fred, is set free upon grooving his sacred soma. While Mere Matt has a mainly muddled mind. Fanciful Fred has fabulous fun. With financial pressures, competing priorities, and myriad commitments, dance grounds the mind and body. Dance ignites the Soul's potential - the optimal nexus of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual modalities. Fred eases the stresses of modern life by mounting cordless headphones on his head and dancing around to a randomised YouTube Music playlist. Whether the track is electronica or funk, pop or disco, he finds the dancing gold in many genres of music. Fred knows the body is meant for motion and dances most dawn mornings, beating the sunrise to the beach.

Caring for Oceans
Mother Earth is fragile. Oceans promote environmental equilibrium. A collection of ecosystems relates to each other in a tenuous balance. Water, air, fire, and earth, these four elements compose the natural world around us. The Earth's atmosphere sustains organic life forms, a rich mixed profile of living things coexisting - biodiversity. We are blessed to exist in a Goldilocks' zone of weather conditions. Not too cold like Mars, not too hot like Venus, Earth is just right. Protecting Mother Earth’s oceans through conservation practices starts with the self. But first, some scientific background on the central crisis of the twenty-first century - accelerated climate change via enhanced global warming.

Magenta and Coolamon
A young woman named Magenta was asleep. She was experiencing a dream of sailing across the Pacific. As the dream sharpened in imagery, Magenta imagined herself sailing solo directly towards a tiny island. Just as the dream was about the elevate, she was awoken by a squealing alarm clock.

Lennox Head Surf Club Kiosk
Waking in a small fibro house, mind busy. It is 5:32 AM. Strolling down the sidewalk to the nature strip adjacent to Seven Mile Beach, the street is empty. One familiar vehicle soon approaches before driving past to purchase their dawn brew. The town is growing exponentially, but there are many residents I still know.

The Technologically Surreal
Waking up at 5:00 AM on the dot in a beach shack. The first automatic thought is to return to the technologically surreal on a mobile device. The virtual world surrendered to in 2021 plays well into the hands of technocratic overloads. Neurochemically, dopamine highs of new notifications are addictive. But human tech binges result in dopamine deregulation, an abnormal interplay of hormones in a tenuous balance. The ready availability of Internet networks makes going down the social media rabbit hole highly available, accessible, and instant.

That Panicky Day
I was excited about an emerging musical endeavour. I left Gary’s house, a musician whom I just had an acoustic vocal and guitar practice. I was set to arrive at George’s place, slightly behind schedule. Nonetheless, I was ready for another rehearsal in our band called Loveliness. Members of Loveliness are Daniel on drum-kit, Casper on bass guitar, George on lead guitar, and myself, Dean, on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. One benefit of being in this band is we all sing! The artistic focus was rocking up popular songs from the decades.

My Local Go-To
I awoke refreshed and ready to engage with a new day. The eastern sky was pre-dawn, but dimly lit with delicious pinks and oranges. I live near the ocean. I walked a familiar 400 metres to the expansive nature strip adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. Blissful and open, I flowed into a fun dance. Headphones on, dance music sounding, I extended my body into a series of original moves.
