While exercising, our body needs extra energy. However, the amount of extra energy the body needs depends on the intensity, duration and frequency of the exercise. This is huge in terms of energy expenditure, water and electrolyte loss and wear and tear. Eating the right foods and liquids, in the right amounts and at the right time, gives the body energy while exercising, even if it is only for an hour.
