Emotionally Abandoned
Abandoned! Stranded! Lonesome! Isolated! Alone! Left for dead! Yeah! These words define right now what I am going through right this moment. It is not easy. It is the toughest situation in the world. It can start anywhere, at any time, and for any reason. It can even overlap the other times. But, no matter when it happens, that will be the time when you find out who your true friends are.

The Left Lane of Life
I am a very busy man. I teach English to 4th through 8th graders in a private elementary school in Queens, New York. When that part of my day is over at 4 PM, I hop into my car and head to Long Island in order to begin tutoring sessions at my second job by 4:30 PM. It is a very busy day for me.

The State of Bereavement
Well, it finally happened. I finally found something that I still cannot believe. No, I did not win a Powerball lottery. I did not marry a starlet. No, I did not discover gold or create a new invention. What I found was quite the opposite. I found the new low point of my life. It is the lowest point of my life and it is called bereavement.

Then and Now
Good Morning, 2019!!! And good morning (or afternoon) to everyone who is taking the time to read this. I am a 63-year-old man named Maurice. I am also a schoolteacher who will soon be retired from this business. I have been in classrooms as a professional educator since September of 1978. Yes, that is a loooooooong time. There are times when I wake up in the morning and ask myself a serious question after I have gotten in my car to go to work.

Did you ever wake up, go through a day, and then ask yourself, "Why bother?" Did you ever want to just shoot the alarm clock because it actually worked that day? Did you ever wake up from a bad dream, only to discover that the bad dream was much better than your worst day to come? If you ever had situations like these, my friend, just feel free to read on.

Racism and My Love Life
Life is strange. That is the only way I can sum it up. It has been strange as far as I can recall. Things happen. I honestly get that. It’s just that things happen for no apparent reason and I cat figure out why and why we let them happen. I am not talking about scientific stuff like earthquakes, tornadoes and stuff like that. I am not talking about ghosts and paranormal stuff. No. I am talking about things that exist for no good reason and is never eliminated. I am talking about racism.

Who Am I? I Am the Joker!!!
Picture this scene. It is a nice school day at an awesome high school in January of 1974. As you walk through the hallways to get from class to class, a number of students who know you (even though you may not know some of them) start air-guitaring you some song that contains these lyrics:

My Jeep and Me Forever!
I know that there is an old expression that says that we are to love people, and like objects. I understand. I do love people, but there are four inanimate objects that I like. They are my trumpet, my portable hard drives, my first racing bike, and my Jeep. Yes, I can't do without these objects because they are a part of me. I can't imagine living life without them.

Dealing with the Bull
Hi, folks! Before you start reading this, I just want to let you off the hook. This article is NOT about pretty women or basketball. So, if you looked at this picture and said "YES," understand that you may be slightly misguided by the photo.
