Don't Sign That Medical Release
Fantastic neuro-spicy TikTokkers raised my awareness about ADHD in women enough to inspire me to get tested at the age of 58. Unfortunately, nobody warned me about how much leeway a psychiatrist has when passing on your most traumatic, sexual, and personal details, including all of his session notes which he can send to your general practitioner. Now my most personal experiences and thoughts are available to non-medical office staff, an entire hospital/ insurance system and everyone in their offices with access to medical files.

Drew Barrymore's "Good Stuff"
When Drew Barrymore was a child I watched her on TV being grilled by a bloodthirsty journalist bombarding her with every bad thing that had befallen her before demanding to know how she copes. Drew’s reply is still my emotional armor.

Face Time: Gua Sha at 92?
Okay, Clock App, you win this round of “TikTok made me buy it.” Because I’m not gonna lie, when you find something that makes your 92-year-old mama look in the mirror and use the viral expression, “Wow! My jaw looks snatched” I’m just gonna hand you my debit card and call it a day. That’s how real the viral Gua Sha facial trend is for me right now.

Trainor & Tink: Made You Look
At age 92 my mother still styles herself as a coquettish cross between Tinkerbell and Meghan Trainor. Once I figured that out I had the tools to break into the mental loops she gets stuck in with dementia that’s suddenly wiped away her memory and abilities as the result of a tiny tumor growing in the space between her brain and her skull called a Meningioma. Don’t worry, this is going to be a feel-good read. Let’s get into it.

Sacrificial Chicken Soup
The day I thanked my neighbors for the gallons of soup they had blessed me with while I was down with COVID-19, via an app designed to communicate with the folks who live next door and elsewhere, it truly never dawned on me that I would have to later clarify that I’m not a practitioner of black magic, voodoo or other such things but that’s why we’re here today so let’s get into it.

Anyone Can Whistle
The day my mother, age 92, forgot how to whistle a lot of things changed for us both. The birds were singing and she didwhat she’s done for the better part of a century and whistled back, only shedidn’t. She did as Lauren Bacall once instructed Humphrey Bogart in To Have and Have Not, "You just put your lips together and blow." Nothing happened.

Diary of a mad fairy wrangler
A three-foot-tall Spiderman is staring up at me deciding if he should “web” me or give me a pass for referring to him as “Spiderman” and not his preferred moniker “Spidey.” Meanwhile, several girls, one with pointy ears and her sister (similarly attired) are summoning me to hear about the letters they just got from their fairies.

Ask the Fairies
If you write a letter to the fairies they write back to answer questions about anything from magical lore to coping with COVID-19 anxiety and even relationships. This is the first time this resource has become available to the world in the form of a regular column. Just write to [email protected] and a fairy, pixie, elf, troll, Muse, hobgoblin, gremlin or Fairy Godmother will reply. This is a FREE, unsponsored, unpaid labor of love.

NakeFit is the new barefoot
NOTE: This is not a sponsored review. I got sent a pair of these by a friend. With COVID-19 germ fears on my mind, I finally decided to try them out because I love going barefoot, but thought about all the little nicks and abrasions that happen in bare feet and how viruses might have another point of access I could protect. Below are the surprisingly awesome results.

A trial of Time & Fate
The Sky was filled with anxious, nosy clouds. The Sun focused all its attention on The Sea as it churned with excitement. The Pristine Beaches and the deserts lay perfectly still as The wind held its breath on the morning that Father Time and Lady Fate came to judge the Time Glass.
